UK-based gothic industrial/rock band, deadfilmstar recently unveiled the latest single, “Welcome Back”, from their highly-anticipated, forthcoming album, Knowing When To Bow Out.
The track showcases a bold shift towards the electronic side of the band’s sound. Featuring massive synth-driven soundscapes layered over harsh industrial guitars, "Welcome Back" is poised to further establish deadfilmstar’s reputation for pushing the boundaries of industrial goth rock.
"The story behind 'Welcome Back' is to do with an old friend. He and I started out in bands together and both believed in the cliché rock 'n' roll dream but I was quickly confronted with the fact that, as I saw it, rock 'n' roll was nothing more than a business model. He, however chose to believe that there was so much more to it all and led the life style to match. We no longer saw eye to eye and went our separate ways. Years back, I heard reports that the lifestyle had ultimately taken his life but, still wonder if the reports were wrong and he'll just turn up one day, out the blue.” - Gary Mobley
