Self-released
17/12/2021, Peter DOLPHEN

You were young in the 90's? Or at least, you felt young? And you were just a tiny bit into grunge or garagerock in that era? Well, this is THE perfect moment to relive your youth. Or continue it, as you wish...

G.U.S.T. is an enthusiastic gang of 'youngsters' from the Belgian Kempen region. The band can almost perfectly reproduce the same atmosphere like back in the days in their first EP 'Gust of wind'. Stirdy riffs, ramming drums and a great voice... I'm close to sentimental. Andy Cairns has some serious competition here!

Through social media, 'Reign' already found its way to the willing ear, as well as their other single 'Nothing in between', but 'Flame' is for me the best banger on the album, which does not bore for a second. With 'Loyal like a soldier' the tempo goes up and the sound gets a punky edge, without going to real punk: just straight on rock, ending with a beautiful accoustic version of 'Hey, I wanna know your name', of which the electric version opened this EPic EP (and was their very first single).

From my side I hope to find an opportunity very soon to experience this 'live', because this looks like a great pogo/pit trip!

THE ESSENCE
I wanted to write a song that was more poppy, with a flamenco riff. The result, 'A Mirage', became a huge hit.

There are worse things in life than being called the Pink Floyd of gothic rock. I can certainly live with that.

SUCH BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS
For me there was never much difference between The Sex Pistols and Fad Gadget or Front 242. They're both punk, just with different instruments.
