There’s something slightly confrontational about IAMIXED: Reworks Fault Lines Albums 1 and 2 from IAMX. Not in volume or aggression but in intent. Chris Corner isn’t just revisiting old material here, he’s pulling it apart, reframing it, sometimes stripping it back to see what’s still there, almost like he’s testing if it still bleeds. At the same time, this isn’t a solitary move. It’s a reconstruction of Fault Lines through collaboration and reinterpretation, different hands, different angles, all circling the same core.
“The Truth (Mimetic Hexes Rework)” opens at a distance. The emotional pull is still there, but pushed further back, wrapped in something colder. Small details carry the weight here, slight shifts in texture, a vocal that feels more observed than confessed. It doesn’t push itself forward, it settles in slowly.
“Disciple (Holy Braille Rework)” leans into repetition without ever feeling static. It circles its own ideas, tightening them, giving the track a ritual-like quality. There’s tension, but it never breaks, it just sits there, constant.
“Thanatos (Damn The Witch Siren Rework)” drifts. It moves slowly, almost dissolving as it goes. There’s a softness on the surface, but something underneath keeps it from settling. It’s less about structure, more about atmosphere.
“War Of Words (Orchestral Rework)” carries weight without getting loud. The orchestral elements don’t open it up, they press it down. It feels dense, stretched, like something unresolved that refuses to let go.
“Infinite Fear Jets (Nigen Rework)” brings in a clearer pulse, something more defined, but never straightforward. The beat feels controlled, almost mechanical, while everything around it shifts slightly out of line.
“The X ID (Carrellee Rework)” pulls things inward. It’s built on space as much as sound, fragile in places, leaving room for things to hang. You notice what isn’t there as much as what is.
The clubdrugs rework of “The X ID” adds movement without losing that restraint. There’s more repetition, something closer to a physical rhythm, but it never fully commits. It stays slightly off, which keeps it interesting.
“Infinite Fear Jets (Mimetic Hexes Rework)” returns to familiar ground, but with a different feel. Less rigid, more exposed. It lets things slip where the earlier version held tight.
“In Bondage (Art Bleeds Money Rework)” doesn’t try to close anything. It fades out and leaves it there, unresolved, lingering.
What holds this together is the tension between control and letting go, between Corner’s direction and the way others reshape it. It’s not about improving what was there, it’s about seeing how far it can be pushed.
For a while, that picture was split. During the 2025 Fault Lines² tour, the UNMASK EP stayed mostly in Europe, while IAMIXED appeared separately in North America. Two parts of the same thing, rarely side by side.
That changes on Friday, May 22, 2026. Both releases are available digitally for the first time, on streaming platforms and as downloads, everywhere. No searching, no region limits, no missing pieces.
Just the full version, finally in one place.
