Fast forward to 2021. With some switches in the line-up (three original members and a new one) The Ultimate Dreamers emerge from a very long slumber, bringing doom to wherever you absorb your music.

Taking inspiration from timeless moods by bands like The Cure, Joy Division and even Trentemøller, the Belgian quartet’s music is a mix of Post-Punk, Cold Wave and Dream Pop with a touch of Goth Rock.

Present day, released on February 7, 2025, Peek-A-Boo is happy to present you their brand-new album ‘Paradoxical Sleep’. An album of entirely new material that no doubt solidifies their standing at the forefront of the alternative underground scene.

Fred (vocals, second bass guitar): “All the songs on the album are new compositions, except ‘Envoler’, which is a new recording of an old song that people loved live. Some songs were already written in 2022, in the aftermath of the recording of ‘Echoing Reverie’: ‘Spiritchaser’, for example. ‘Traum’ too, but we completely reworked those later. ‘Deafness’ and ‘Energene’ were contributed by Bertrand (guitar) and Joel (bass guitar) They were the most complicated for me to work on and develop. Most of the others I brought myself.
I composed a lot during a rainy vacation in Sierksdorf, Germany. There, songs like ‘The Knife’, ‘Looking For’ and ‘Into the Fog’ were created. Recording took place in the first half of 2024 with the assistance of Len Lemeire (Implant, Anne Clark) who produced, mixed and mastered the album. After that, we had to wait for the records to be made …”

Dedicated to the memory of Philippe Pascal (Marquis de Sade, Marc Seberg) ‘Paradoxical Sleep’ also features special guest vocals. So you get to hear Simona Ferrucci of Winter Severity Index on ‘Into the Fog’, and June Dune of Dead Crush on ‘The Knife’.

The keyboard and cello playing by Sandrine enriches several tracks with a uncanny ear-catching mystical depth.
