If you’re a regular reader of our pages then you definitely know that we’re in love with Vieon. This Coventry-based band brings you electronic dance music that is both inspired from past and present electronic masters. With opener The Sound Of The Future they reveal their passion for electronics that’s made with a vocoder. A perfect track to introduce us to for what will come after.
Starfighter puts you in an 80’s Giorgio Moroder-mood combined with some irresistible Kraftwerk-beats. The magic goes on with City Lights, a track that could have been on Equinoxe or Oxygene (that’s Jean-Michel Jarre we’re talking about!).
I could also say that Lost Words could have been on Spiral by Vangelis or that Only Human has an Air-feel. But what’s the use? Vieon are Vieon. They take their heroes for granted, that’s for sure, but they come up with a very own contemporary sound. We won’t make any stupid jokes by saying that they’re making the sound of the future. That’s too cheap and not the level this electronic masterpiece deserves. If you like Belgian band Metroland then you’ll like this!
A real tip for electronic fans!
