BHPL — Our Love Can Destroy The World

BHPL, the Dutch duo whose music is a mix of EBM, harsh sounds, and clear dance and techno influences—in their words, Acid Body Music—has released a follow-up to II. The newborn goes by the name Our Love Can Destroy The World. Not just their 'love,' but also the tracks themselves cause damage like a relentless bombardment.

Right from the start, Rain From Heaven makes it clear that these guys come in hard. A solid stomper with a gritty techno edge. The distorted vocals add the necessary depth, making the track easily digestible for fans of the electronic (sub)genre within our beloved scene. F. Dupont follows a similar musical style to the opening track. New Beat-inspired bleeps with an acid-like sound joyfully crawl through the pounding beats.

The 'Acid' in Acid Body Music makes way for the 'E' of EBM in the track Collision. Dark beats in abundance, driven by a crushing bassline that hits with relentless rhythm. Back to basics in the best possible way. A harsh voice, transformed by distortion, takes care of the rest. Midway through, the track seems to drift away, only to snap back violently, striking everything in its path. The rhythm section hits like a sledgehammer.

Some calm and restraint come with Coward, a soundscape-like track with a noisy, industrial feel and a low tempo. It once again showcases the diversity that BHPL has to offer.

No Truth In Flesh blends harsh and dark electro vibes. A commanding bassline serves as the backbone of this intense banger. As a bonus, we also get a remix of this track.

The sixth and final track, UVB76, immediately captivates with an incredible, endlessly repeating melody. A pounding techno beat underneath completes the experience—pure energy.

BHPL keeps pounding mercilessly. Time to bring these guys (among others) to Belgium to tear the place apart!
