CONFORMIST FEAT. H O R S E S — Heddiw

For both Confirmist and H O R S E S, the recently released ‘Heddiw’ became a path of reconstructing the melody and the basic principles of songwriting. At least, these are the first impressions listening to their recently released ‘Heddiw’ single.

Rejecting the typical bass driven paradigm of an electronic music world, collaborators step into the territory of sonic experiments – the path already taken and explored by everybody from Einstürzende Neubauten to Don Caballero. Space and dissonance become the principal instruments of these Welsh artists. Alongside the traditional singing – there is not so much dissonance, as weird rhythm structures and crooked melodies. But together, they remind one of a broken doll. Once broken, carefully restored. Surreal and memorable.
