LUKE LUND — Hopium

With his recent record, Finnish groove-master Luke Lund decided to only focus on one constant: rhythmical structures that became the basis of all the instruments. The pulse of a character of Wes Craven’s horror. Rushing and running.

Luke Lund is the perfect example of an artist who doesn’t want to be categorized. And he'll do anything to avoid this. Some might say that “Hopium” is a “digital hardcore” record. True. Aggressive. And uncompromised. No doubt. But, at the same time, Lund managed to combine bits and pieces of different musical tendencies within one record – like the industrialized elements of “Circle Of Debt” merzbow-type-of-noise passages or the crossing rhythmical structures of “Pillface”.
