PSY'AVIAH
Aftermath
Music video for PSY'AVIAH track 'Aftermath ft. Ellia Bisker' taken from the 2018 album 'Lightflare'. The video is shot at on old abandonned factory near Willebroek (Belgium) to fit the theme of the song's devastating nature.
Aftermath deals with the moment you feel it all collapsing, the moment that has been building up, the moment you were afraid of - it has happened. As the lyrics state 'Walls come crashing down, everything is swept away, you can't find solid ground, no safe place you can stay.' Bad news came to you that day, the song makes you wonder, you do you deal with it, how do you cope with it. Does it change you? Will you ever be the same again? Musically the song is inspired by TRIP HOP of bands like Massive Attack and Portishead, but added with a SYNTHPOP flavour of Psy'Aviah, which gives an intense melancholic mix of guitars, drums and cabaret soulful vocals.
Music by Yves Schelpe, lyrics by Ellia Bisker. Produced by Yves Schelpe for PSY'AVIAH, vocals performed by Ellia Bisker - and she's featured in the video as well. Mixed by Mitia Wexler at wxlr.mx, mastered by Geert de Wilde of IC 434. Video recorded and edited by Yves Schelpe at Willebroek (old abandonned factory).
// LYRICS //
It's bad news, premonition of foreboding.
It's the knock at your front door,
in the quiet it's the phone's ring.
Walls come crashing down, everything is swept away.
You can't find solid ground, no safe place you can stay.
The world brings you to your knees, but you never can admit defeat.
Are you an angel falling down or a cat landing on your feet?
Upheaval, you can feel the earthquake.
You're cracking open, the shock is like a tidal wave, tidal wave, tidal wave
Walls come crashing down, everything is swept away.
You can't find solid ground, no safe place you can stay.
The world brings you to your knees, but you never can admit defeat.
Are you an angel falling down or a cat landing on your feet?
You don't know what comes next, how do you bounce back,
from such a car crash? When all your worst fears have come to pass?
You learn to live in the aftermath...
Walls come crashing down, everything is swept away.
You can't find solid ground, no safe place you can stay.
The world brings you to your knees, but you never can admit defeat.
Are you an angel falling down or a cat landing on your feet?
