An alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. SYNOPSIS
In deze intense actiethriller voert een onverslaanbaar buitenaards ras een meedogenloze aanval uit op de Aarde. Majoor William Cage (Tom Cruise) wordt gedropt in een kamikazemissie. Na enkele minuten sneuvelt Cage, maar hij komt terecht in een time loop, waardoor hij dezelfde aanval telkens opnieuw beleeft en dus onophoudelijk vecht en sterft. Dankzij training met de onverschrokken soldate Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) wordt hij bedrevener op het slagveld, en elk gevecht brengt hen steeds een stapje dichter bij het verslaan van de vijand...
De film werd geregisseerd door Doug Liman, de man die ook in de regiestoel zat bij The Bourne Identity en Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
