For Shirin, being part of a perfect Persian family isn't easy. Synopsis:
Shirin doet haar uiterste best om zowel de ideale Perzische dochter als een jonge, hippe, politiek correcte en ook nog eens biseksuele Brooklyner te zijn. Het valt niet mee om aan alle clichés te voldoen, zeker niet als haar hart wordt gebroken door Maxine. Een hilarisch, prikkelend maar ook ontroerend debuut van Desiree Akhavan over een jonge vrouw met seksuele uitspattingen die haar gebroken hart wil repareren maar dit ook voor haar familie verborgen moet zien te houden. Echter zonder succes!
