FenixFire Records presents its second release on their second label night!
FenixFire Records is a new record-label focusing on new and unreleased material within the 'New Beat' genre. After a first release and party at the end of last year, FenixFire Records is organising their second label-night on Sunday, April 30th. The label will be presenting their second release called Fashion Victims Volume 2 with tracks from kFactor, VV303, Ascended Man and Pakrac. Headliner of the party is the German Beat Pirate aka Jens Lissat, next to a live-show of Shimanski Beats and New Beat sets from residents Aimé Le Chevalier and Double B.
New Beat, the most famous Belgian music style ever, arose at the end of the eighties as a specific mixing style in iconic clubs as AB, Prestige, Boccaccio, LaRocca, Café D'Anvers, 55, Dixies....It was later released on vinyl with huge worldwide success. The last couple of years, there’s a clear revival of this oldschool style. The movie ‘The Sound of Belgium’ played a big part in that revival and you can now find lots of parties featuring those early tracks. At those parties a complete new generation, too young to have known the early days, loves those sounds. Meaning a new generation is also looking for those records and a new load of musicians and producers are making music again with the characteristics of New Beat because New Beat is completely back as if it never left!
As a result, the first release of FenixFire Records was a huge success. A big list of international DJs (amongst which Richie Hawtin, Orde Meikle (Slam), Etapp Kyle, Matt Edwards (Radioslave), Maceo Plex, Angel Molina,...) reviewed it and gave Fashion Victims (Volume 1) an average of 4 out of 5 stars!
On Fashion Victims Volume 2 you will again find 4 great tracks by four amazing artists. The first one is by kFactor, a Brazilian who has pointed his skills to Electronic Body Music and New Beat. With ‘Dementia’ he brings an infectious track with vocals and a serious rhythm section. VV303 is a young guy from Diest with an extensive musical record. With ‘Nipple Twister’ he brings a solid Acid-track which will set alight many dance-floors. The Ascended Man is one of the aliases of Olivier Abbeloos. The roots of this man go back to the early days of New Beat. And everybody remembers his hits with T99 and Quadrophonia. Pakrac brings us, ‘Washing the machine’, a real house track in the style of the old Chicago House Trax. This more laidback track proves nonetheless to be a true floor-filler with its nice twist and acid-line.
At the release party they welcome Shimanski Beats for a live-gig. This artist was featured on the first release and FenixFireRecords will be releasing a complete new EP with 4 other tracks of him soon. Those who want to catch a glimpse of this new material, will have to come and check-out his live set on this party. Next to residents Aimé Le Chevalier and Doble B, FenixFire is also pleased to have the German Beat Pirate (aka Jens Lissat) on the line-up. This international DJ will be presenting an exclusive New Wave and New Beat set with hints to other classics on his name. Jens Lissat is mostly known from the hit 'Energy Flows' but also of the formations ‘Interactive’ and ‘Phenomania’. Jens Lissat is still active as a DJ these days and FenixFire Records is proud to have him over.
The event will take place in the basement of Arena, a top-location with free parking in front of the venue. Places are limited so don’t wait too long to get your tickets if you want to be part of this show!

FenixFire Records stelt tweede release voor op tweede labelnight! Zondag, 30 april @ Arena, Deurne!
FenixFire Records is een nieuw platenlabel dat zich toelegt op het uitgeven van nieuw en onuitgegeven werk in de stijl 'New Beat'. Na een eerste release en party eind vorig jaar, organiseert FenixFire Records haar tweede labelnight op zondag 30 april. Die dag brengt het label meteen ook haar 2de release uit, Fashion Victims Volume 2 met tracks van kFactor, VV303, Ascended Man en Pakrac. Headliner op de party is de Duitse Beat Pirate aka Jens Lissat, naast een live-optreden van Shimanski Beats en New Beat sets van residents Aimé Le Chevalier en Double B.
New Beat, dé stijl van eigen bodem, is bekend geworden op het einde van de jaren 80, als een mixstijl in iconische discotheken zoals AB, Prestige, Boccaccio, LaRocca, Café D'Anvers, 55, Dixies,... en later op vinyl uitgebracht met groot wereldwijd succes. De voorbije jaren is er duidelijk een revival van deze oude stijl. De film TSOB heeft deze trend alleen maar bevestigd en nu duiken er overal parties op waarop ook dj’s en clubbers die te jong waren om 'het' te hebben meegemaakt hun gading vinden. Dat betekent dat er nu een nieuwe generatie is die vooral als eerbetoon op zoek gaat naar die oude parels. Dat betekent ook dat muzikanten en producers terug muziek maken met kenmerken uit de New Beat. Nieuwe New Beat. Want New Beat is terug, alsof het nooit helemaal weg was.
De eerste release van FenixFireRecords was dan ook een schot in de roos. Een machtige lijst van internationale DJ’s (waaronder Richie Hawtin, Orde Meikle (Slam), Etapp Kyle, Matt Edwards (Radioslave), Maceo Plex, Angel Molina,...) hebben deze gereviewed en gaven Fashion Victims (Volume 1) een gemiddelde van 4 op 5 sterren!
Op Fashion Victims Volume 2 staan opnieuw 4 geweldige nummers van 4 geweldige artisten. De eerste track is van kFactor, een Braziliaan die zich op de Electric Body Music én de New Beat heeft geworpen. Met ‘Dementia’ brengt hij een erg aanstekelijk nummer, met zang en een stevige rhythm sectie. VV303 is dan weer een Diestse jongeman met een ruim muzikaal palmares. Met ‘Nipple Twister’ brengt hij een stevige Acid-track die menig dansvloer in vuur en vlam zal zetten. The Ascended Man is één van de pseudoniemen van Olivier Abbeloos. Zijn roots liggen in de beginjaren van de New Beat. Maar iedereen herinnert zich wellicht ook zijn hits met T99 en Quadrophonia. Pakrac brengt met ‘Washing the machine’ een echte house track in de stijl van de oude Chicago House Trax. En toch is dit rustiger nummer een ware floorfiller met haar leuke twist en acid-lijn.
Op de release party verwelkomen ze Shimanski Beats voor een live-gig. Deze artiest stond al op de eerste release en FenixFireRecords zal binnenkort een nieuwe EP uitbrengen met 4 andere nummers van hem. Wie dus reeds een glimp van zijn nieuw werk wil horen, moet aanwezig zijn op onze party! Naast residents Aimé Le Chevalier en Double B verwelkomen ze ook nog de Duitse Beat Pirate (aka Jens Lissat)! Deze internationale DJ zal speciaal voor FenixFireRecords een exclusieve New Wave en New Beat set komen draaien, met hints van andere klassiekers waar hij voor tekende. Jens Lissat is vooral gekend van de hit 'Energy Flows', maar ook van de formaties ‘Interactive’ en ‘Phenomania’. Jens Lissat is nog steeds actief als DJ en FenixFireRecords verwelkomt hem maar al te graag.
Het event vindt opnieuw plaats in de gewelfde kelder van Arena, een toplocatie met gratis parking voor de deur. Het aantal plaatsen is gelimiteerd, dus wacht niet te lang met het kopen van tickets als je erbij wil zijn! De release is alvast inbegrepen in de prijs.
