Alison Lewis, aka Zoè Zanias, the singer of the cult band Linea Aspera, has unveiled the first song of her new project: Keluar. As she had told us in an interview earlier this year, her new music is more experimental than with Linea Aspera. It is indeed less synth-pop, more minimal wave, and this song has even trip-hop accents, as we find some aspects of "Machine Gun" from Portishead in the 'shooting' rhythmic riff. Her vocals are as before, warm, haunting and amazingly intense.
The lyrics and the vocals of this new song ("Rivers") are by Alison. The electronics and the production are by Sid Lamar. This song will appear on the "Ennoea" EP, for release in July 2013 on Desire Records. I had the opportunity to listen to a preview of the other songs on the EP and they have some amazing sonic atmospheres, with complex structures, great tribal percussions and some Asian touches. I am looking forward to the final EP!
