DAVID MORRISSEY is The Driver in an exciting new BBC drama about an ordinary man’s fall into the criminal world and the shocking aftermath. It makes its DVD bow courtesy of RLJ Entertainment’s Acorn Label on 13 October.
Vince (Morrissey – The Walking Dead, The 7:39) and Ros McKee’s son Tim has cut all ties from the family. Reeling from his departure and both blaming themselves, the couple drift further and further apart and soon become accustomed to living separate lives.
Stuck in a rut and bored of being a taxi driver, an encounter with his old friend Col (Ian Hart – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Klondike), who is just out of prison after a six-year stretch, turns Vince’s life upside down when he accepts a job as the driver for a criminal gang.
Written by Danny Brocklehurst (Clocking Off, Accused), The Driver features a brilliant cast including Claudie Blakley (Pride & Prejudice, Gosford Park), Colm Meaney (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Damned United) and Sacha Parkinson (My Mad Fat Diary, Coronation Street).
