Including box office hits and all-star casts, the first six films are Grey Owl, Glengarry Glen Ross, Drums Along the Mohawk, Electra Glide in Blue, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry and Julia, all to be released on 15 September, followed by further titles in the Autumn.
Glengarry Glen Ross
‘One of the 1990s' greatest triumphs’ The Guardia
With an all-star cast including Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon and Kevin Spacey, the acclaimed Glengarry Glen Ross based upon David Mamet's award-winning play, follows a group of desperate real estate agents in Chicago.
When a hotshot executive from the head office arrives and proposes a vicious sales contest in which the losers will be fired, competition gets stiff, and salesmen who have worked a lifetime for the company find their jobs in jeopardy.
Electra Glide in Blue
‘One of the greatest treasures of the decade, combining achingly beautiful storytelling with a melancholy tone that utterly captivates' Empire
Golden Globe nominated crime drama stars Billy Green Bush alongside Robert Blake as John Wintergreen, a brainy motorcycle cop from Arizona, who dreams of becoming a detective.
Due to his short stature, he is not taken seriously by his superiors, but a smart hunch about an apparent "suicide" lands him the promotion he wants. However a few days on to the job, Wintergreen begins to realise how corrupt his boss Poole (Mitchell Ryan) is, discovering the job is less glamorous than he had imagined.
Drums Along the Mohawk
‘One of the most beautiful and distinguished achievements of early colour’ Radio Times
This Western Adventure classic starring Henry Fonda and Claudette Cobert was John Ford’s first film in colour and became a box office hit when released in 1939.
Set in pre-Revolutionary America, Gilbert and Lana Martin, a newly married couple, are trying to make a home in New York State’s Mohawk Valley, but after repeated attacks by native American tribes, they are forced to take shelter in a nearby fort. Along with other settlers in the valley, they watch helplessly as the natives lay ruin to their farms and cabins.
Julia
‘Miss Fonda and Miss Redgrave are marvelous’ NY Times
Nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and four acting awards, Julia is a stunning drama about friendship and courage directed by Fred Zinnemann (From Here to Eternity, A Man for All Seasons), starring Jane Fonda and Vanessa Redgrave.
In the early 1930s, playwright Lillian Hellman travels to Vienna to visit her childhood friend Julia, a committed anti-fascist, who has been injured during a demonstration. With a growing sense of awareness of the emerging threat of the Nazi’s, Lillian is persuaded to smuggle a large sum of money into Germany, leading to her involvement in a dangerous resistance operation.
Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry
‘The cars crash and career spectacularly… eye-catching Californian scenery’ Radio Times
On DVD for the first time, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry directed by John Hough (Eye Witness, Twins of Evil), is a cult 1974 car chase film much loved by action fans for its hair-raising stunt work.
Larry (Peter Fonda) is a NASCAR hopeful whose reckless nature has caused him a string of bad luck. Alongside his friend and mechanic Deke (Adam Roarke), Larry steals $150,000 dollars from a supermarket to buy a new sports car. The heist goes well, except Larry’s on off girlfriend, Mary (Susan George) has planted herself in the car and refuses to budge.
With Mary along for the ride, Larry and Deke set off on a journey across California with the cops in tow.
Grey Owl
‘Brosnan is excellent…the film abounds with genuine pleasures’ Sight and Sound
Archibald Belaney was a British man who grew up enchanted with Native American culture so in the early 1900s he left the United Kingdom and headed for Canada, where he reinvented himself as Archie Grey Owl and lived in the wild as a North American Indian trapper.
Based on Belaney’s true story, James Bond star Pierce Brosnan plays Grey Owl in Richard Attenborough’s classic adventure biopic.
Forthcoming releases from Odyssey DVD due for release in October include By the Light of Day, Borsellino The 57 Days and the Luca Zingaretti Box Set.
One of the defining films of the French New Wave, The 400 Blows - Francois Truffaut's semi-autobiographical first feature - stars Jean-Pierre Léaud as Antoine Doinel, an unruly young Parisian whose unhappiness leads him into trouble.
Frequently running away from school and home, Antoine spends much of his time playing with his friends on the steets of the city, but events take a more serious turn when an accusation of plagiarism leads him to quit school and the theft of a typewriter lands him in trouble with the police. Léaud was to reprise his role as Doinel in four further Truffaut-directed adventures: 'Antoine et Colette' (1962), 'Baiser volés' (1968), 'Domicile conjugal' (1970), and 'Love on the Run' (1979).

In Belgium we still have to wait to see the first one, but as Hollywood is always ahead of us, a sequel for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set for 2016.
With a 65 million opening weekend, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies on Sunday announced plans for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, with a release date of June 3, 2016.
Michael Bay will return to produce with his Platinum Dunes partners, and Turtles writing team Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec are on board to pen the sequel script and executive produce. The statement did not specify whether or not Jonathan Liebesman would return to direct.
According to Eric Powell 16 Volt has put an end to their career. Here is his statement:
"I have had to make a very hard and heavy personal choice. It is with my deepest appreciation, gratitude, love and respect that I announce this. After 23 years of serving 16volt and riding the insane roller coaster I have decided to put the band on permanent hiatus. There are many factors that contribute to this decision including the retirement of 18 year member, Mike Peoples. We have many skeletons, ghosts and baggage and we are stifled by our own existence, the band has more than run it’s course.
This was obviously a hard decision but a necessary one as an artist. I want you to know, It’s not over. This is the closing of a chapter but the beginning of a new one. I have started a new project with some great musicians and we look forward to announcing everything soon. I want to thank each and everyone of you for the love, joy, excitement and purpose you have given me for the majority of my life. I will never forget any of it and I hope you will continue to go along with us on this next chapter.
Please stay posted here as we will continue to keep you updated as news is developing on the new project. It’s gonna be amazing and we want you to as always, be a part of what we are doing."
