It is with honor and privilege that I present to you the new live-album from Agent Side Grinder – Hardware Comes Alive! After releasing their latest album "Hardware" in early 2012, Agent Side Grinder headed out on tour throughout western Europe.
One of the dates were at Péniche le Sonic, a converted barge moored along a quay in Lyon, France, where this live recording was made on 17 May.
ASG has built up a dedicated following through radio play in France and the gig was hotly anticipated. Agent Side Grinder prefer using analogue equipment and eschew the use of backing tapes when playing live. Consequently this live album was recorded on a 1978-vintage cassette recorder, using no post processing except for some very basic mastering.
This disc catches ASG at their raw hypnotic best, right at the crossroads between post-punk, bleak industrial electronics and psychedelia. Even without the visuals, it goes a long way towards explaining why they are such a brilliant l! ive act.
MESH stand for perfect pop songs with accessible melodies fantastic vocals. In terms of songwriting and arrangement they are virtually peerless in the electro/synthpop scene. Now the British duo is back with “Born to Lie”, the impressive first single from their new studio album “Automation Baby” due out next March. Pop from the shelf?
The beat, the hook, and the charismatic vocals of Mark Hockings all signal this is anything but. In the three years since the release of their last full-length “A Perfect Solution” the boys from Bristol have been hard at work crafting new material.
The exclusive B-side “Black Dog” is just another surefire hit, showcasing MESH’s sense for relentless melody, not to be missed. While retaining the brilliant hook and signature vocal, the club versi! on of “Born to Lie” works just a tick rougher, harder and heavier - perfect for the dance floor. The Rotersand Rework is a groovier treatment, while the minimal EBM technopop of the Blitzmaschine remix gives the track an additional hypnotic touch. All in all, a well-rounded packet with something for everyone. MESH are back and if you consider the additional 10 or 11 pop pearls to appear on “Automation Baby”, 2013 should be another big year for MESH
You might perhaps not have heard the name, but you definitely do know the tunes 'Push!', 'Devil Dance' and 'Sex Can be Sin'.

Joy Division listening session and Paul Banks concert at AB in January!
It sounds like a nice 'double bill'! The Ancienne Belgique had the great idea to combine the concert of Interpol frontman Paul Banks with a listening session of Joy Division's first album: "Unknown Pleasures".
The listening session will start at 18:00 and will last 40 minutes. Please note: this is NOT a concert but a listening session! For a live interpretation of this legendary album, by Peter Hook And The Light, come to the BIM festival on 15 December!
You can attend this listening session free of charge by registering via reservationshuis23@abconcerts.be (mention ‘Joy Division’).
After the session, Paul Banks will play his first solo concert in Belgium. His solo album ‘Banks’ will be released later this year and is produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, The National, Shearwater and Jónsi). You can book your ticket here.
