New French/Swedish synthpop duo by musicians from Ad Inferna and Erotic Elk
Formed by V.V. Arkames (vocal, Ad Inferna) and Fredrik Sigeback (synth, Erotic Elk), My Love Kills released their very first song, Love Undone, via Soundcloud yesterday. According to Arkames, the difference between Ad Inferna and MLK is that there is no agressivity in the images, words and vocals this time: “In MLK, all is insinuated, cold, soft, sweet but very emotive and sensitive too. You can feel the pain inside.”, he said. The style brings a perfect mix of the emotional side of Ad Inferna with Erotic Elk’s classic electronic approach.
The musical interchange between the duo began during the second album from Erotic Elk, Solitary (2011), which was mixed and mastered by VoA Voxyd (keys, Ad Inferna), and also featured a Ad Inferna remix. But it took three years to the musicians finally share the creativity.
The MLK debut is being composed, while Ad Inferna promotes the new opus and the third Erotic Elk album is on the way.

Temples have announced details of Sun Restructured, a ‘re-animation’ of their much-acclaimed debut album, Sun Structures, by Beyond the Wizards Sleeve (Erol Alkan & Richard Norris) which is released on Heavenly Recordings on Monday November 10th 2014.
Taking the original record as their guide, Beyond The Wizards Sleeve have created a kaleidoscopic trip that redefines and takes the original into new, twisted sonic spaces. Using five re-interpreted tracks (Sand Dance, Shelter Song, A Question Isn’t Answered, Golden Throne & Move With The Season) from the original album to form the spine of the record, the 42-minute journey is interwoven with tweaked and warped snatches of other tracks from Sun Structures.
Describing the record, Erol Alkan said: “Being asked to re-animate a whole album’s worth of material is an honour. We (in return) wanted to create something special. A record which could be listened to in one go, from start to finish, a listening experience that is becoming increasingly rare. So as well as a host of full Beyond The Wizards Sleeve re-animations here, there are interludes, ambience, ebb and flow…each section flowing int a bigger piece. We tried many things along the way: spoken word sections, days out collecting field recordings, yet ended up letting the original songs and their beautiful arrangements and melodies guide us. There is so much happening under the surface of Sun Structures, and deep within each track, it was a pleasure to dive in and see what we could find. it inspired us to pick up our guitars, plug in our synthesisers and add some wizardry on top. Enjoy this trip. And it is a trip.”
Sun Restructured will be available as part of a deluxe CD and download re-issue package with the original album.
Sun Structures, which is Rough Trade Shops best selling album of the year and one of the best selling vinyl releases of 2014 so far, was initially released in February. The 12-track album, self-produced by the band’s James Bagshaw and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer, has been a massive world-wide success, proving a huge international hit; in Japan the record became a top-3 fixture in the international chart.
The start of the year saw the band appear as part of the NME Awards Tour alongside Interpol as well as play their own headline UK tour which culminated in a euphoric sold-out show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
More recently the band have played in Japan and Australia, appeared at Reading / Leeds, Glastonbury, Field Day and Latitude festivals in the UK and have just returned from a run of sold-out American shows. They play a number of European festivals and head back to the UK in late summer to appear at End of the Road and Bestival before they head out in November / December for their biggest UK headline tour to date.
Temples are: James Bagshaw (vocals & guitar), Tom Warmsley (bass & backing vocals), Sam Toms (drums) & Adam Smith (keys).

Four years after the unexpected and exquisite treat that was Philip Selway’s debut album Familial, the man formerly known only as the drummer of Radiohead returns with his sophomore record, Weatherhouse. At ten tracks and 38 minutes, the album is as concise in shape as it is expansive in mood and assured in execution, mining a generally darker, fuller sound than its gentler, more acoustic-based predecessor and reflecting the band-centred nature of its construction and its creator’s growth in confidence.
Weatherhouse was made in collaboration with Adem Ilhan and Quinta; artists in their own right who had previously performed in Philip's backing band. “From the outset,” Selway recalls, “we wanted the album to be the three of us, and we covered a lot of instruments between us. With a studio full of inspiring gear and a great-sounding desk, we felt like a band. Different musicians stretch you, and I felt stretched on Weatherhouse, but very enjoyably so.” Working mostly out of Radiohead’s studio in Oxfordshire, Adem also produced and engineered Weatherhouse, while Quinta played an equally integral role in the arrangements. The album was mixed by David Wrench.
Album opener ‘Coming Up For Air’ sets the scene with its brooding, spectral mood, mantra-like pattern and Selway’s simmering, reverb-drenched vocal exploring the album’s dominant theme. “It’s very much about taking stock of my life. I wanted to convey a sense of release and affirmation,” he says. “This was the first song that we recorded. Immediately it felt in a very different space from Familial.”
The album's talismanic qualities explore a world of hope and plans, connection and disconnection - between family, friends and self - and dreams and fears: “I love records that you can almost live in, where the songs become talismans that you take to heart. That’s what I was trying to create in Weatherhouse.” With its emotional frankness, haunting melodies and gripping tension, Selway has made a great artistic leap and created something that even the most experienced singer-songwriters would be proud of.
Weatherhouse will be released 6th October on Bella Union. Album artwork, new photo (by Deirdre O' Callaghan) and album tracklisting below:

Naar het toneelstuk POSH van Laura WADE
POSH van Laure Wade debuteerde in 2010 in het Londense Royal Court Theatre. Het bleek een instant succes bij zowel pers als publiek. Nu volgt de verfilming THE RIOT CLUB.

The long wait will soon be over... on the 21st of November, 2014, the anticipated QNTAL VII will be released. Here is a small glimpse at what is to come. A shortened version of the song "Frühlingslied" with photos from the official photoshoot at Heinrichshorst Castle.
