Originally released in 1979, the mythic synth-punk lost classic C.O.M.A. album is available on CD for the first time ever. Including 4 unreleased tracks*!
Before becoming French pop star with Charles de Goal, Patrick Blain was part of C.O.M.A., a synth-punk band that recorded one and only album, chock with ideas, then dismantled shortly after. Originally released on Flamingo in 1979, ‘Clinik Organik Musak Anatomik’ is now a much sought after collector. Some will find similarities with Metal Urbain in their sound, especially tracks like "Assaut," but C.O.M.A. is certainly weirder and mix clangy punk guitar, proto-industrial synth, harmonica, and slapdash electronic drums. Each song is its own experiment.
Inspired by bands like Devo, Wire, XTC, Kraftwerk, The Residents and Magazine, C.O.M.A. is The Screamers this side of the Atlantic Ocean !

At the Filmfestival from Ghent in 2013 one of the most remarkable films was Under The Skin by Jonathan Glazer. So far acclaimed mags like Sight & Sound described this weird, but sublime work as one of the movies you have to see this year. In Belgium the movie hits the theatres on 25th June. Watch these pages as distributor A-Film soon will give away film tickets and soundtracks for our readers!
Synopsis:
In Scotland, an alien takes the body of an attractive young woman and travels the country in a van picking up men. As she lures her victims into a trap with the promise of sex, the men are immersed in liquid and their flesh is harvested. She is monitored by another alien, who has the body of a male motorcyclist. When she attempts to seduce a man on a beach, she witnesses the accidental drowning of a man and woman. She watches dispassionately, then kills the first man after he tries to save them. She takes his body with her, leaving the couple's toddler behind.
The movie is also remarkable for its music that’s been composed by Mica Levi from Micachu & The Shapes.
MICA LEVI – COMPOSER
Born in Guildford, Mica Levi was classically trained at school, leading to her winning a scholarship to study composition at the Guildhall School of Music. During her time at the latter she released her first mixtape ‘Filthy Friends’ with producers and MCs including Toddla T, Ghostpoet and Man Like Me. In 2009 she produced songs on DEL’s debut album ‘GOB’.
It was at Guildhall that she met ‘The Shapes’- Raisa Khan and Marc Pell and, with the assistance of producer Matthew Herbert, they made their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Jewellery’ (Rough Trade, 2009). Since then, in addition to creating ‘NEVER’ the group have been extremely prolific: Last year using unorthodox, handmade instruments they collaborated with The London Sinfonietta - one of the world’s leading contemporary orchestras – to release the album ‘Chopped & Screwed’, recorded live in front of an audience at King’s Place.
Earlier this year Micachu and DJ/producer Kwes then released the second volume of their collaborative mixtape series ‘Kwesachu’ which featured artists such as Ghostpoet, Speech Debelle and DELS (volume one was released in 2009 and featured The xx, Hot Chip and Metronomy), and has most recently been working with acclaimed newcomer Tirzah. Mica was made an artist in residence at London’s Southbank Centre in 2011, the youngest individual musician to have ever been granted this unique role.
Marble Sounds is releasing its music video ‘Ship in the sand’, a touching cover of the band Sophia) in cooperation with the Provinciale Stuurgroep KOPP West-Vlaanderen. This steering group is made up of people from different organisations in mental healthcare and aims to sensitize as broadly as possible about KOPP.
The problem that these children are confronted with is often invisible to the outside world. Inside their home it continues to rage rampant. The children often see themselves as the cause of their parents’ problems. They try to hide it at all cost and they take on a great responsibility in the family.
Marble Sounds collaborated with production company Geronimo which came up with the idea to link the band to attention for KOPP in order to visualize those hidden problems with the necessary impact.
The video was written and directed by Dirk Domen. We witness the difficult story of a mother who includes a child into her psychosis. Next to 10-year-old Kasper Kindekens, the film also stars Dutch first-class actress Halina Reijn.
