Israeli dark electronic act Liya proudly announces the release of her new video "No Meaning".

The "No Meaning" video was filmed on the streets of Tel Aviv, Israel and was directed by Ohad Elimelech. The single "No Meaning" appears on LIYA's debut EP, LISTEN available digitally via Blind Mice Productions.

LIYA explains that “‘No Meaning’ deals with depression after a breakup… where there is no meaning to life and everything seems dark.” As she relates that every track on the EP is based on “true experiences I’ve had with the concept of love,” she continues, “Apparently for me heartache goes hand in hand in fueling your creativity.”

Biography:

LIYA TREBITCH is a singer/songwriter from Tel-Aviv, Israel. From playing the piano and composing since the age of 5, LIYA started making electronic music at the age of 23. Inspired by new wave, synthpop, darkwave and industrial, her music has deep, dark melodies that take you out of your ordinary world. She has also performed extensively throughout Europe and Israel with DJ Yahel while working on her own material.

Now presenting her debut EP "Listen" on Blind Mice Productions, LIYA is a must-hear for fans of the gripping, nostalgic intimacy of THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE to the synth-heavy compositions of DEPECHE MODE.

Chicago's One-Woman Electro-Industrial Act I YA TOYAH Releases 'FLASHBACK (Rhys Fulber Remix)' Video

28th of June 2019, 17:21

Chicago's one-woman electro-industrial army, I YA TOYAH is very proud to announce the new video release for "Flashback (Rhys Fulber Remix)."

Check the video out HERE:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHDhRDjctww

"FLASHBACK" was remixed by Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly, Delerium) and the music video was filmed by Lumbra Records. Original mix appears on I YA TOYAH's full-length album CODE BLUE.

"FLASHBACK (Rhys Fulber Remix)" is available digitally NOW on all major outlets and can be heard on SPOTIFY.

Rhys Fulber called this version of Flashback "a sadness on the dancefloor." "I envisioned Berlin at 4 am," he said. With the visual magic created by Lumbra Records, the viewer is teleported to Chicago reality-city lights, rush of life, and...mental alienation. The video was filmed in the middle of a cold April night. Various locations include Michigan Avenue, Bucktown, Lincoln Park and more.

I YA TOYAH landed here to spread the disease of music and infect the human race. She is a one woman army that blends the chaos and balance with familiar vibe of industrial electronica sound. Her music is a fusion of smooth, cutting edge vocals, surreal guitars, hypnotizing beats and multiple electronic synth elements arising into dark arrangements that, combined with storytelling lyrics, respond to the paranoia of everyday reality.

NEWS The Joy Thieves Sign To Armalyte Records And Announce ‘THIS WILL KILL THAT’ EP

The Joy Thieves Sign To Armalyte Records And Announce ‘THIS WILL KILL THAT’ EP

20th of June 2019, 11:16

MINISTRY’S CHRIS CONNELLY FEATURES ON THE BAND’S DEBUT RELEASE, DUE OUT ON 28 JUNE 2019.

Chicago-based Industrial Rock supergroup The Joy Thieves have joined forces with the UK’s leading alternative label Armalyte Industries and will be releasing their ‘This Will Kill That’ debut on 28 June 2019.

With over 30 active members, The Joy Thieves ever-growing, shape-shifting line-up includes current, former and touring members of Ministry, Stabbing Westward, Revolting Cocks, Pigface, Marilyn Manson, The Dead Boys, Blue October, Chant, Cocksure, The Lords Of Acid, Skatenigs, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Mary’s Window, Machines Of Loving Grace and more. The Joy Thieves' sound consists of huge, memorable riffs combined with dangerous, industrial strength punk invective that easily rivals Killing Joke at their finest.

Commenting on the newest addition to the Armalyte roster, the label’s head of A&R, Giles Moorhouse, explains; “To us, it feels as though The Joy Thieves transcend the traditional notion of what a “supergroup” can be. Rather than a potential car-crash of colliding agendas and egos, The Joy Thieves sound like a finely-honed collective with the singular purpose of kicking your arse whilst lodging themselves firmly in your brain. ‘This Will Kill That’ is just the beginning, and we’re massively excited to unleash their spectacular debut on the world.”

‘This Will Kill That’ Tracklist:

1. Joy Thieves

2. This Will Kill That

3. Chemical Dreams

4. Tempting the Flames

5. Violent Lucidity

6. Honeycomb and Silk

“I wanted to do something big. When I saw how tall Dan (Milligan) is, I knew it was the right project for me. Also I hate Joy.” – Marcus Eliopulos

“When Dan asked me if I wanted to be a part of The Joy Thieves, my first visceral reaction was ‘Absolutely not. No way in Hell.” To this day I stand by that statement. It was horrible working with him and Matt Clark this first time around, and I cannot wait to repeat that miserable experience.” – Howie Beno

“Dan and Matt (Clark) had apparently been stalking me in my early days, while I was involved in various groups that they thought were really amazing – Machines Of Loving Grace, Stabbing Westward, Two Jacks and a Jill, and Pigface. Many have said this. Good people. Dan and Matt thought some of these bands were probably the best bands ever. Many people think this, important people in the industry. So Matt bribed me to do a “session” at his “studio”, in “Austin, Texas”, which was really just a ploy to get me to track something for Dan, while I was there anyways. And then we fell in love.” – Dave Suycott

Toronto Darkwave Act DOUBLE EYELID Announces The Release Of 'A Means To An End'

19th of June 2019, 11:17

June 7, 2019 - At the advent of their summer west-coast tour, Toronto-based darkwave band DOUBLE EYELID are very pleased to announce the release of their new single. Titled "A Means To An End" the track is the first new release from the project since the 2016 remix album BROKEN MIRROR. The song is also the first track to feature current guitarist Sky Shaver, who has been performing live with the band on and off for the last several years.

Stream “A Means To And End” on Bandcamp HERE:

The single release also features a killer remix by the legendary Claus Larsen of LEAETHER STRIP & KLUTAE. Asked about the track and his process Claus remarks: “I was very happy to get to remix this great band. It's very inspiring to get to fiddle with well composed songs and put a different perspective on it. A great song like this can take my "abuse”."

DOUBLE EYELID are about to embark on their first tour of the US, hitting the west coast in June (dates below) and the east coast in August. For more details, please see their website at doubleeyelidmusic.com or the social links below.

BIOGRAPHY:

Glam, goth, gutter: DOUBLE EYELID was formed in Toronto in 2009 as a vehicle for the songs and vision of lead singer and central band member Ian Revell.

Initially an arty post-punk project formed with a couple of close friends (Karl Mohr – also known for his Dead Red Velvet project – and Benjamin Mueller-Heaslip) a couple of fateful decisions made in 2011 shifted the project firmly in the ‘goth’ direction. The first was to abandon the use of a drummer in favour of a drum machine, both live and in the studio. The second was to collaborate with horror filmmaker Steven Cerritos on the band’s first single and video “Dead is Better.” Released in July 2012 this video marked Double Eyelid’s true international debut and was featured by MuchMusic, Canada’s equivalent to MTV, and covered on numerous blogs worldwide.

After multiple delays the release of the band’s first full-length album “Seven Years” in July 2014 was met with instant acclaim around the world. Noted goth journalist Mick Mercer hailed the album as a “dark classic” that was “easily one of the year’s best”, while Terra Relicta Webzine ranked it #11 in their list of the top 20 albums of 2014. Shortly thereafter DOUBLE EYELID signed with DeadFall Management for UK and European booking and promotion.

In February 2015 DOUBLE EYELID were included on Oskar Terramortis’s popular 33 Goth Bands You Should Know compilation. May 2015 saw the release of the band’s second video, for the song “Black Box.” Directed by Japanese filmmaker Keishi Kondo it has a surrealistic film noir feel reminiscent of David Lynch’s Eraserhead. A month later DOUBLE EYELID supplied a live soundtrack for the classic film THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI in a special one-off performance featuring Ian Revell and Karl Mohr.

Released in February 2016 DOUBLE EYELID’s second release “Broken Mirror” is a remix album that was hailed in Louder Than War (UK) as a “minor masterpiece” in its own right and features bold new reinterpretations of DOUBLE EYELID tracks by goth and industrial artists from around the world, including Leaether Strip, Psyche, nTTx, Tyler Milchmann and others.

Now joined by guitarist Sky Shaver DOUBLE EYELID is currently gigging regularly and working on the long-awaited follow-up to Seven Years, which is tentatively titled “Skeleton Key.”
