The tremendous 5xLP box by one of the highest acclaimed minimal synth bands, Snowy Red, is finally in stock.
The Snowy Red project started as a one-man band by Micky Mike. With a few synthesizers, a 12/2 mixing desk and a 2-track reel to reel recorder he created repetitive synth masterpieces in the vein of Suicide and Polyphonic Size.
These black synthetic pearls were spread over two albums: the self-titled "Snowy Red" and "The Right To Die", both are included in this box, officially remastered, and with original artwork.
Only a few months ago, when the project was nearing completion, Michael Thiel (the son of Micky) made the discovery we were all waiting for, DEMO tracks of the first album!!
Besides proto-versions of "Blood Blood Blood", "Maud Is Dead" and Deep Desire", the main discovery is the 22 minutes version of "The Wild Boys": an electronic trip you do not want to end!
And there's more... Underground club hit "Breakdown" was released throughout the eighties in several different versions.
Included in this box are the 12 inch and the 7 inch versions, both featuring the beautiful Carol on vocals. Further down the line on disc four we find Micky Mike's solo version of the track which was first released on "Walking After Midnight" in 1980. This is an absolutely raw and honest version. Also included are the unreleased tracks "Lies In Your Eyes" and "Red Skies", both excellent additions to the Snowy Red puzzle, and three stripped down demo's made for the "Vision" album.
Very different from the first two releases, the "Vision" album was Micky's most ambitious effort. With the help of friends (Niki Mono) and the addition of saxophone and eastern instruments Micky Mike’s talent as a producer was pushed to the limit. "Vision" conceptualized a total spectacle: there was a video to accompany the album and the live shows were truly theatrical. But even without these visionary additions the album has a certain grandeur, almost like an electronic opera.

The next release on Medical Records (MR-007) will be Guyer's Connection. It should be available in about a month.
Guyer’s Connection were a Swiss duo that started making electronic music in 1982. Tibor Csebits and Philippe Alioth were merely 14 and 15 years old and were armed with simply 2 synths, a drum machine, and a 4-track tape recorder. They are best known for their highly-sought after self-produced and released album "Portrait" in 1983. It is now considered a classic minimal synth pop masterpiece.
Several other members joined the band in 1984 and worked together for some time. Philippe Alioth has been very active in the music business writing, producing, and running a Swiss studio as well as running a Swiss label (Sonic Content). This extraordinary collection of tracks was discovered in a dark recess of Philippe’s achives of 4-track tapes in his studio. The tapes were recorded from 1982 to 1984 but were rediscovered in 2005. A portion of the songs were restored/remixed/remastered.
The German record label Kernkrach released the tracks in 2005 in a limited viny-only pressing of 330 copies. This sought-after release has long been out of print.
Medical Records in collaboration with Philippe Alioth is proud to present another presentation of these glorious tracks. Featuring 13 tracks (including several never before released and a few reworked versions of tracks released in 2005), and is for fans of minimal synth, electro-pop, flexi-pop, and the like.
The LP features newly created front and back artwork.
Presented on 180gm green vinyl in a limited edition of 600 hand-numbered copies.
The other coming releases are:
MR-008 OGI
MR-009 Lou Champagne System
MR-010 Dalek I
MR-011 Axxess

Good news for the fans of Italian darkwave-outfit The Frozen Autumn.
After their well received "Rallen tears"-EP earlier this year, the band announce that their new album"Chirality" is scheduled for release on 27th October 2011 out on Calembour Records.
We agree we can fill tons of pages with bands that cover Joy Division.
In fact, we can even fill a whole webzine with it, not?
But then again, it stays fun and our dark heart still says yeah to it!
Control from Sélange (don't take your gps, it's in Belgium!) are a band as such.
Nico, Romain, Pat, Marco and Oli will perform at Saturday 18th June at The Dark Cat a setlist with only Joy Division-songs.
Makes us indeed kind of thirsty to see Peter Hook playing Unknown Pleasures at Shadowplay!
Location : Dark Cats Café, Place de Warocqué 1 , Mons (Mons, Belgium)
Kirlian Camera return with a mesmerizing new single that sports the Gaelic title "Ghlóir Ar An Oíche" (Glory Of The Night).
The main track "Nightglory" is a trip to pure Kirlian-Camera-heaven featuring a heady, catchy and anthemic chorus supported by a pulsing sequencer design and forceful electric guitars and of course added with the great voice of Elena Alice.
The track is featured in an electronic version and in a highly intense, piano-driven, chamber-music-like "Camera Version".
The single also features an exclusive, new instrumental track titled "I Gave You Wings - I Gave You Death" (a vocal version will be included on the upcoming album) and a massive reworking of 1998’s "After Winter", re-recorded and rewritten in a darker, more exciting, electronic vein.
"Ghlóir Ar An Oíche" will be released as a limited CD single in a glorious Digipak and a strictly limited, gorgeous 10" picture vinyl version.
This cd-single is an ideal appetizer for the upcoming album, scheduled for release later in 2011.
