NEWS New album from Xenturion Prime on Progress Productions

New album from Xenturion Prime on Progress Productions

02nd of July 2022, 11:16

Swedish/Norwegian duo Xenturion Prime (Bjorn Marius Borg and Hasse Mattsson) is, without doubt, one of our top-priority releases to come from Progress Productions in 2022.
This duo, who recently won synth album of the year (2021) at Sweden's alternative Grammy awards (Manifest) for their last album "Signals From The Abyss", returns with their most grand album to date called "Prisma". This album really pushes the term Synthwave a big step into the future. The band's epic soundscapes, danceable beats and killer production really makes Xenturion Prime stand out in the electronic music scene.
Each track on "Prisma" is a potential single, and they have not left ANYTHING "half made". The first two singles from the album "Embers" and "Distant Voices" have both been received with love from the entire scene. What makes Xenturion Prime so unique is that they don't stand still. One track can be emotional and calm, then the next one will set ANY dancefloor on fire.

NEWS Legendary Goth Club ‘The Church’ Featured In Documentary Film

Legendary Goth Club ‘The Church’ Featured In Documentary Film

01st of July 2022, 17:15

Dark Sanctuary: The Story Of The Church will be the feature-length documentary about the historic Dallas goth club - The Church. The documentary will explore the incredible history and shocking stories of one of the longest running goth clubs in the U.S.

Through interviews with world-famous music artists, local bands, and patrons, the film will tell the story of the transgressive community of misfits that formed in the nearly three decades of the legendary club’s existence.

The film will center on the club’s DJ in residence, Joe Virus, and follow his journey from aspiring musician to DJ’ing the main stage for over 20 years. The film will also narrate the events of 2019 and 2020 as a multimillion-dollar real estate company bought up the neighborhood, and the pandemic claimed the community’s beloved building at 2424 Swiss Avenue. Over the decades, it has often been said by Church-goers, that The Church was theirs-“Our Church.” Now, their home of nearly three decades stands on the brink of being lost forever. But they can't finish documenting the legacy of the legendary Dallas-based club and its community WITHOUT YOUR HELP.

Dallas, Texas-based Spectrograph Films has launched an IndieGoGo campaign to fund their feature documentary film, Dark Sanctuary: The Story of The Church.

Check Out the Indiegogo campaign and some killer perks HERE:

So far...

Spectrograph Films has already filmed key interviews with founders of The Church as well as major artists who performed there, including Paul Oakenfold, Bill Leeb, Aurelio Voltiare, and RubberDoll.

The Plan

They plan to seek interviews with many of the world-famous artists who performed there over years such as cEvin Key, Front 242, Front Line Assembly, Combichrist, Clan of Xymox, VNV Nation, Dita Von Teese, and many more.

They additionally plan to explore many of the incredible stories and personalities intertwined with The Church’s history including such giants as Marylin Manson, The Cure, Trent Reznor, Joan Jett, and even Madonna. In tandem with the story of The Church, the film will talk about the incredible Friday and Saturday EDM nights known as The Lizard Lounge where legends of electronic music performed: Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Moby, Tiesto, The Prodigy and more.

cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy will co-compose the title music track along with resident DJ of The Church, Joe Virus. Artist Ashley Thorpe known for the Shudder Exclusive film Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched will do illustrations and animations as well as design the movie poster.

Our Goal:

With a goal of $70,000, the IndieGoGo will run for 40 days beginning June 19th offering incredible perks for backers such as DVD’s, signed posters, 45 rpm records, and even actual ceiling tiles from 2424 Swiss Ave.

NEWS 41 years of Incontinent by Fad Gadget!

41 years of Incontinent by Fad Gadget!

01st of July 2022, 00:00

On this day, 41 years ago Frank Tovey released the album Incontinent as second Fad Gadget album. Incontinent sounds less “industrial” as his debut album Fireside Favorites relying less on drum machines and sampled (industrial) sounds. Most songs are inspired by Frank Tovey’s impression during his first US tour in 1980.

"Blind Eyes”, with lines such as "Send a few pounds to a charity / Now we're feeling so much better" and a chorus intoning "Hear no, see no, speak no evil" is clearly about people trying to easy their consciousness and ignore global problems.

While "Swallow It" is about the feed of news and propaganda our society, our leaders and media are feeding us day after day.

"Saturday Night Special" is inspired by America's 'Second Amendment', one of the ten amendments to the Constitution comprising the Bill of Rights, states: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed... "

The title tracks "Incontinent" and "Manual Dexterity", both instrumental, respectively featured Mute Records founder Daniel Miller and Robert Gotobed of the band Wire.

"King of the Flies" was released as a flexi-single on 2 October 1981. "Saturday Night Special" backed with "Swallow It Live" was issued on 5 January 1982. A rerecorded version of "King of the Flies" backed with "Plain Clothes" was released on 6 April 1982. None of these singles made it into the mainstream charts.

The album was recorded and mixed during Summer '81 at Blackwing Studios, All Hallows Church, London and features Frank Tovey

The album's artwork featured a picture of Tovey made up as the puppet Punch and was taken by Anthon Corbijn.

Luscious Apparatus Addresses Rage Control With New Single

30th of June 2022, 17:15

"Bricks & Bones" is the recently-unveiled single from Oregon-based electronic act, Luscious Apparatus.

"Bricks & Bones" comes from a woman on a journey to control her rage instead of being consumed by it, and letting it destroy everything she’s worked so hard to achieve.

It’s not simply being “mad” about something anyone did; it’s a wire that gets tripped and rips open her monster’s cage. If she starts to heat up, grab her a cold beverage, towel, icepack, etc. She’ll cool off if you catch it right away. Do not show fear, do not tell her to calm down. Be calm. She’s working on it.

"Bricks & Bones" is available on all streaming platforms including Bandcamp NOW.
