Because of the health problems Johan Van Roy has to face these days, 2015 is anything but a happy year , but the Suicide Commando-frontman fortunately also has some good news. Johan already talked about it in our interview, but Electro Convulsion Therapy of 1993 that was released on a tape (containing songs of Critical Stage) is now re-released on the label of Dirk Ivens (Minimal Maximal ) on vinyl, with an additional CD on which the tracks are included that are on the vinyl, but complemented with songs from other (earlier ) tapes.
Be quick, because this gadget is limited on 500 copies, and unfortunately almost sold out by now.

Door de gezondheidsproblemen waarmee Johan Van Roy te kampen heeft is 2015 een allesbehalve geslaagd jaar, maar de Suicide Commando-frontman heeft gelukkig ook nog wat goed nieuws. The world never seemed so black as today, but fortunately there is that bright spot named David Bowie. After ten minutes (or earlier) of watching Black Star you know the answer: the new album that will be out on 8th January 8, 2016 probably will be a fantastic one!

The trio (Pierre Goudesone , Laurence Castelain and Laurent Stelleman ) will soon release a new album on Out Of Line, but here’s already the fantastic video clip that suggests the best for what is to come ! Another album to look forward to!

If you visit festivals like Eurosonic then maybe you know the name of Raglans, or maybe you were at a concert by The Libertines , Haim, The Fray or the Strypes, and you saw these Irish lads as the support act. In Ireland music fans are pretty wild about their catchy indie punk tunes. The quartet wants to conquer the Benelux too, and therefore their debut album is released on Gentlemen Recordings, and there are also three shows scheduled :

Indien je naar festivals als Eurosonic trok heb je misschien wel al gehoord van Raglans, of wie weet was je op een concert van The Libertines, Haim, The Fray en The Strypes en zag je deze Ieren in het voorprogramma. In thuisland Ierland loopt men in ieder geval behoorlijk wild van de aanstekelijke indiepunk van deze Ieren. Het viertal wil echter ook in de Benelux doorbreken, en daarom wordt hun debuutalbum bij ons uitgebracht door Gentlemen Recordings, en zijn er ook drie shows gepland:

On November, 20th, Sigiswald Kuijken performs a cello suite and a partita by J.S. Bach in the Art Centre België (Hasselt). It is a unique opportunity to see one of Belgium’s greatest classical musicians at work. His appearance is part of a Bach homage organized by the KC in collaboration with the Municipal Conservatory of Music, Word and Drama. Afterwards singer-songwriter Vinze will mount the stage.

Op 20 november is Sigiswald Kuijken in het Kunstencentrum België (Hasselt) te gast voor de uitvoering van een cellosuite en een partita van J.S. Bach. Het is een unieke gelegenheid om één van onze grootste klassieke muzikanten aan het werk te zien op een terrein dat hij heel erg goed kent. Zijn optreden kadert in een Bach-hommage die het KC organiseert in samenwerking met het Stedelijk Conservatorium voor Muziek, Woord en Drama. Studenten en docenten van het Hasselts Conservatorium gaan ’s middags in ‘dialoog’ met de grote Bach-kenner over het (her)interpreteren van de muziek van de Duitse barokgrootmeester en ’s avonds is er een Bach-hommage en nadien een optreden van Sigiswald Kuijken, waarvan de opbrengst besteed wordt aan de financiering van de opname (cd en dvd) van Mozarts Entführung aus dem Serail door La Petite Bande. Nadien is er een solo-optreden van singer-songwriter Vinze (Stefan Huber).
Wat ons betreft: niet te missen!
