Rabia Sorda are back … and the name of their new EP, which would translate into „wild beasts“ in English, is pretty much programmatic for all the infernal new songs. „Animales Salvajes“ offers up four new sonically explosive charges, as well as three club-compatible remixes.
The new Rabia-Sorda-record almost feels like an exorcism conducted through music: Hocico-shouter Erk Aicrag completely unleashes his inner animal, thus charging up his bastard lovechild of Electro, Punk and New Wave with even more aggression than ever before. One would certainly not be accusing Rabia Sorda as ever being anything akin to a tame lamb, but the four new songs certainly surpass anything they ever did before in regard to pure, unfiltered anger. Drums are pounding away with unrelenting aggression to thundering electronic basses, while searing guitar riffs are cutting through this tsunami of sound like an out-of-control buzz-saw. Erk is beserking away like he is trying to purge all of his inner demons only to replace them with even mightier ones. Be it “Die In Berlin”, “I'm Tragedy”, “We're Here To Win” or the wrathful thunderstorm “Obey Me!” - Rabia Sorda are going wild like never before, one can almost feel the onslaught Erk and his band will unleash in a live show with these songs... so join the fight, the Electro-pogo is on! As a special icing on this cake made of barbed wire, the band is adding three club-compatible remixes made by friends to the package. Call it Electroclash, Synth-Punk or Electrocore … it presses, it rages, it obliterates anything that stands in its way – and it is darn addictive! Unleash your inner beastie!
The German-Swedish indie rock band 1000 GRAM has a new single & video out.
1000 GRAM was founded in Gothenburg, Sweden, as Moritz Lieberkühn had left his hometown Berlin to follow his heart north. Once there, he quickly became entangled in in the small city's dense music scene and soon met bassist Jacob Öhrvall (Klabbes Bank, The Big Almost) and guitarist Alexander Simm (The Country, The Big Almost, New Found Land). Nowadays the band members are scattered between Berlin, Stockholm and Gothenburg, but that is not stopping 1000 GRAM from being productive. "When we meet, our focus is on playing and we use the time better than we might have done if we lived in the same city," says Moritz.
On the sequel to the debut Ken Sent Me (2012), 1000 GRAM are developing their incomparable mixture of fat guitar sounds, ironic lyrics and feather light production. The self-confidence and sovereignty created by the fact that the band now have had some time to play together also outside of the studio is palpable. "Our role models come from a time when indie still meant alternative,” Moritz explains and lists Sonic Youth, Pavement and Fugazi, bands after whose concerts you went home with a soaking wet t-shirt, half a tooth gone and a big smile on your lips.
Manchester-based dark-pop duo Shield Patterns have unveiled a video for new track Ruby Red. The song is taken from their debut album Contour Lines which was released via Gizeh Records earlier in the year.
Shield Patterns, the Manchester-based duo of Claire Brentnall and Richard Knox, create intense, infectious and incredibly detailed dark-pop music. Debut album ‘Contour Lines’ was released in June via Gizeh Records and has gathered heavy praise from the press including a five star review from The Skinny magazine.
The project started life in late 2012 with Brentnall working alone on a bunch of home recorded demos. A chance meeting with Knox at her first ever solo show was enough to form an interest in working together in some capacity. Just a few months later and the duo were performing live together whilst also working on the beginnings of new material that would finally form the debut album. After retiring to the wilderness and isolation of the North Wales countryside, that album was finally complete.
There is a resolutely unique sound to the music Shield Patterns make. A lush, fragile and rich soundworld… like falling - slowly, gracefully, and not without hope, but still falling; a white shape in the darkness tumbling downwards.
The 7th Fast & Furious will be out on 1st April 2015, even if many film fans will hope it's an April Fool's Day-joke.
The film, which finds Diesel’s Dom and the rest of the gang dealing with the fallout from stopping Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) in the last film, aims to keep the franchise’s burgeoning reputation for mad car stunts and other action alight with James Wan stepping in behind the camera.
Universal has announced via the film’s Facebook page that a trailer reveal will be happening in Los Angeles at an event that will also be broadcast online.
