All sinners will have the opportunity to gather again on Saturday 1st December for the great mass of new wave and punk. After one year of absence, SINNER'S DAY is back!
2018 is the year that celebrates forty years of new wave, which makes one more reason to celebrate this 5th edition of Sinner’s Day. For the first time, this edition will take place in the Limburghal in Genk. With a bit of luck the DNA of predecessors such as U2, THE CURE, BEASTIE BOYS or SISTERS OF MERCY will still float around.
New wave and punk have reached a respectable lifetime and more and more young and passionate musicians are still inspired by these genres. That’s why Sinner’s Day 2018 not only focuses on timeless classics like JOHN CALE, GBH, RED ZEBRA, DE BRASSERS or popular bands such as FISCHER Z and GANG OF FOUR but also on the new generation with COCAINE PISS, WHISPERING SONS and VIVE LA FÊTE.
Proto-punk Wayne Kramer (MC5) will perform as absolute headliner on the Sinner’s Day stage. Fifty years after the legendary 'Kick out the Jams', Wayne Kramer will play the album in its entirety, supported by his supergroup MC50. His new band just consists of members from SOUNDGARDEN & FUGAZI.
One more new thing: one of the two stages will be exclusively dedicated to Belgian acts. The one who knows his or her patriotic musical history also knows that our country, especially Limburg, played (and still plays!) a key role in the new wave/nouvelle vague scene. Think of bands like DE BRASSERS (Hamont), MARCEL VANTHILT (Leopoldsburg), O VEUX (Hasselt) but also WHISPERING SONS(Houthalen) or FUNERAL DRESS, COCAÏNE PISS and VIVE LA FÊTE.
Marcel Vanthilt will not only perform on stage but will also do the presentations during the festival. In the coming days and weeks, he will also present to us introduction videos of bands, for instance Whispering Sons, MC50 & Claw Boys Claw.
In short, a great line-up for the lovers of the genre!

A band preparing its next attack – and it will hit perfectly! Solitary Experiments once more fusion heavy beats with touching melodies and give a promise.
It has always been this special sleaziness that united bouncing rhythms and catchy yet earnest vocal melodies. Regarding that the single „Crash&Burn" is a highlight in the career of the Berlin band, bringing fresh wind into the known and beloved trademarks.
Agreeing with that, Ashbury Heights not only did a remix (alongside with [-SITD-] and Vanguard), but additionally singer Tea F Thime graded the chorus up with her lovely voice. Additionally there is the brandnew instrumental „Anachron" and two remixes of „I Am", first released on the sampler „Electroscope Vol. 8".
A full package in a digipack limited to 1000 handnumbered items making hungry for the album beeing released in the autumn.
Since its founding in 2015, this EP is the the first official release of Causenation, a trio from Antwerp, Belgium.
It took Vain Sacrosanct (founder, composer and inspirator of the band) almost a year to finally release "The Things You Promised". Causenation says it gets inspiration from epic Belgian EBM bands such as The Neon Judgement or Absolute Body Control which can be clearly heared on this release: Heavy electronic bass sequences, pounding beats and dark synths are layered to EBM danceable tracks. The EP was mixed and mastered by Claus Larssen (Leætherstrip) and contains remixes by Steve De Coninck of VV303, Richard G from Schwartzlicht (ex-Combat Voice) and by Vain Sacrosanct himself.
"The Things You Promised"is available as a digital download on Bandcamp as a single and as an EP.
