The countdown has begun! One week to go, and then BIMFest is coming your way. This Belgian festival that takes place in Antwerp (Zappa) is the place to be for seeing the best acts in electronics and wave. Tickets are still available, and this is the official time schedule:

You certainly know the names of JimBob and Fruitbat if you were a fan of Carter USM. Anyone who was in love with indie during the 90s certainly had a record of this legendary duo from London at home. Today many indie bands sound dated, but the music of these two still conjures a smile on our face.
Cherry Red Records made it a habit to release about everything that has been lost, and in December the label will release the last radio session by Carter USM (transmitted by Steve Lamacq) on CD.
On December 11th, 2015 Hello , Good Evening , Welcome And Goodbye is in the shops and you'll find versions of hits such as Rubbish , The Only Living Boy In New Cross, Sheriff Fatman, the Pet Shop Boys cover Rent and This Is How It Feels with guest vocals by Tom Hingley, the frontman of Inspiral Carpets on the album.
Je kent ongetwijfeld wel de namen van JimBob en Fruitbat als je fan was van Carter USM. Iedereen die zich met indie bezighield in de jaren 90 had wel een plaat van dit legendarische duo uit Londen in huis. Vele indiebands klinken anno 2015 vrij verouderd, maar de muziek van deze twee tovert nog steeds een glimlach op ons gezicht.
Cherry Red Records heeft er ondertussen een gewoonte van gemaakt om zowat alles wat verloren is gegaan opnieuw uit te brengen en in in december wordt de laatste radio sessie van Carter USM (uitgezonden door Steve Lamacq) op cd uitgebracht.
Op 11 december 2015 verschijnt Hello, Good Evening, Welcome And Goodbye en je vindt daarop versies van hits op zoals Rubbish, The Only Living Boy In New Cross, Sheriff Fatman , de Pet Shop Boys-cover Rent en This Is How It Feels met de gastvocalen van Tom Hingley, de frontman van Inspiral Carpets.
Do you have some free space in your concert agenda? Indeed, it is almost impossible to keep up the number of festivals of alternative music and it’s a good proof that there is a need and interest in music that’s being banned by the radio.
Black Easter is a young festival that is chronicled in the dark scene as the unmissable music festival for dark wave, neoclassical, ethereal wave and post-punk.
The second edition of the festival will take place on 26 and 27 March in Antwerp (venue Zappa), and the list of names is impressive.
Earlier Hekate, In The Nursery, Attrition, Elvyia Dulcimer, Attrition, Jo Quail, Evi Vine, Rosarubea and She Past Away were announced.
The organizers inform us that they added five names!
Besides the new talent of the violinist Paul Mercer, the Mexican ambient and dark world music of Sullen Serenade and the post-punk of the Belgian Les Panties, also two legendary names are added to the list as well.
First there is the ethereal goth band Mila Mar, but also Monica Richards (the lead singer of Faith & The Muse who now has an impressive solo career) comes along. And it is not just a performance, because Black Easter can proudly proclaim that this is the only show Monica will give this year in Europe.

The Guru Guru is a Belgian quintet that in less than a year already achieved a lot. You could see them on stage at famous clubs such as Het Depot (as support of Raketkanon), Muziekodroom , De Charlatan and Trix, but also at festivals like Rock Herk , Sziget Festival ( Hungary ) Incubate (Netherlands) and this summer at Pukkelpop.
They themselves describe their sound as Noise / psychotic rock that takes its inspiration from Sonic Youth , METZ, Pere Ubu, Melt Banana and Deerhoof.
After a first self-titled EP featuring five songs that was released last year, The Guru Guru strikes back with both a new 7" Hole in the Ground and a split 10" with Brutus, that features a cover of the Sinead O'Connor hit Troy. Click below to hear it !

Do you remember James? This indie rock band from Manchester with singer Tim Booth caused in the 90s in England real riots when they played, and songs like Sit Down and Come Home were classic anthems during the baggy days when everyone was talking about The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays.
Apparently everything comes back, and who knows, after the shoegaze revival, the Madchester scene returns. At least if it depends on James, because they are back with a brand new single appropriately titled as To My Surprise, which is available from today on. This song is taken from the upcoming album Girl At The End Of The World.
If you have to believe the band then their newest album is the best one they've made in 32 years. We are curious, but we have to wait three months before we know the answer. The new CD is produced by Max Dingel (The Killers, Muse, White Lies) and appears on 18th March.
In England scheduled concerts are at the Manchester Arena and three in London (O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, O2 Forum Kentish Town and O2 Brixton Academy).
