Het speelfilmdebuut van documentairemaker en fotografe Marjoleine Boonstra is een visuele roadmovie door de uitgestrekte steppen van Kirgizië. Kurai Kurai is een mythe in een modern jasje, in een onbekend land waar andere regels gelden. Een land dat gekenmerkt wordt door verlaten landschappen, de wind en vooral de aldoor rollende ’kurai': wispelturige steppentuimelaars vol raadselachtige verhalen.

This Is Not A False Alarm Anymore, v01d's debut is a sonic riddle without any easy-access key. The album is dense and cerebral, veers into strange territory for industrial, including off-time drumming, live guitars, and very well-written lyrics. Not your usual fodder. Of course, v01d shows his roots on every track, meshing elements of Haujobb, Boards of Canada, Pop Will Eat Itself, Faith No More, and Underworld into a slick and surprising release. This Is Not A False Alarm Anymore is yet another quality release to come out on the Artoffact label and firmly places v01d as a new and innovative artist to watch!
Mastermind Jürgen Engler is a visionary who has had a lasting influence on the music landscape for decades. In the late 1970s, he was among the first German punk rockers with his band Male and took Campino (lead singer of German million sellers ‘Die Toten Hosen’) on tour with him before Die Toten Hosen were even founded. In the eighties, he formed DIE KRUPPS, who went on – together with his congenial partner Ralf Dörper [PROPAGANDA], who has also co-penned countless lyrics since "Wahre Arbeit Wahrer Lohn" – to be a driving force of the industrial and EBM movements. When this scene was taken over by the mainstream in the nineties, the group from Düsseldorf integrated tough thrash guitars into their sound and became, along with Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, the most important source of inspiration in the electro metal genre and also influenced numerous bands of the Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness). It is this successful phase (keywords: “Fatherland”, “To The Hilt”) which DIE KRUPPS bring back to life with their latest release “V – Metal Machine Music”, taking up where their “IV – Paradise Now” album (which was not numbered at the time of its release) had left off, following their fairly electro machine-heavy “The Machinists of Joy” recording which saw the light of day less than two years ago.
The title “Metal Machine Music” has appeared before in the DIE KRUPPS discography: once on their same-named maxi single with Accu§er and once on the 1981-1991 compilation, which featured the title’s German version. Jürgen Engler doesn’t mind. The title is so succinct that the new album just had to be called “Metal Machine Music”! The name stands for the ultimate symbiosis of electro and metal, the way I’ve always had it in mind. The artwork with its apocalyptic man-machine theme, reminiscent of “Mad Max”, is a perfect complement. No doubt about it – this albums sees DIE KRUPPS not only follow in the footsteps of their successful electro metal phase of the mid-nineties, it also sees them go even further in terms of sheer toughness! “V - Metal Machine Music” – the title says it all!

In a city park, Surly the Squirrel has finally gone too far with his latest caper leading to the animal community's winter food cache being destroyed. Now exiled, Surly and his rat buddy Buddy's collective nightmare on the streets ends when they discover a nut store to raid. Meanwhile, the squirrels, the heroic Andie and the ditsy Grayson, are charged by Raccoon to find a new food source and Andie runs into Surly. With no other options, she arranges a deal to help in Surly's heist for the colony, even while Surly fully intends to betray it. However, there is more going on with the nut store being a front for bank robbers while Raccoon has his own agenda to ensure his own power. In the mayhem to come, Surly finds himself challenged in ways he never expected and discovering the real prize to treasure in this adventure.

Wanneer de ondeugende eekhoorn Surly per ongeluk de wintervoedselvoorraad van alle dieren verbrandt, wordt hij het park uitgezet. Om zich uit de situatie te redden beraamt hij samen met zijn trouwe rattenvriend Buddy een plan om een notenwinkel te beroven. In de kelder liggen genoeg nootjes om maandenlang van te eten. Maar wanneer het duo ontdekt dat een bende boeven andere plannen heeft met de notenwinkel moeten ze de hulp van de dieren uit het park inroepen.
En dat zorgt voor vele spannende en grappige momenten in deze bioscoophit voor de hele familie!
