It is with great sadness that we announce the terrible news:
The DNA Café in Brussels is closing down tonight.
It originally opened in 1983, and has spent the past 29 years as the cornerstone of the Brussels alternative music scene.
New management Tbo and Julie took over some 2 years ago, and had done a sterling job in increasing the appeal of the place by putting more gigs on and broadening the appeal of the DNA.
It has associations with Metal, Punk, EBM and Indie bands far and wide (including unique murals by Jean-Luc De Meyer's brother).
We don't know the full story, as they have been discrete about it, but it would seem that this is another case of a landmark Brussels music café being harrassed out of existence (after the Dada).
RIP, and love to Julie and Tbo.
On 27-28-29 July, the "Summer Darkness" festival in Utrecht will celebrate its 10th anniversary. For those who don't know this festival, it can be described as a "little WGT". Why? Like in Leipzig, the festival includes a number of different venues and during the three days of the festival, the beautiful city of Utrecht wears the colors of our dark culture.

Belgium will have a strong presence with other bands like Vomito Negro, Sonar, Empusae, Monolith, Parade Ground, etc.

Vocalist Kirk Brandon still leads Spear Of Destiny to this day and they have just completed a full UK tour supporting Stiff Little Fingers
Anagram’s previous releases by the band – "Grapes Of Wrath” (CDMGRAM 200), ”One Eyed Jacks” (CDMGRAM 201) and "World Service” (CDGRAM 202) – have all sold well and we expect strong demand for what is essentially a "Best Of Spear Of Destiny”.
Release Date: 16/07/2012
Dead Can Dance will release their new album on August 9th, their first new record in 16 years! Its title will be "Anastasis", a Greek word that roughly translates as 'rebirth' or 'resurrection', a suitable title for their reunion...
Via Pitchfork.com, they've also shared a new song from the album, "Amnesia". The song is sung by Brendan Perry, ie without Lisa Gerrard. Download it here, in exchange for an email address.
The band will play in Brussels at the Cirque Royal on September 29th, 2012 (sold-out).
