Texan Industrial/Hard Rock band, Torque Order, released their latest EP, Metal Machines, On May 2th. Along with the title track, it features remixes by Society Burning, Adoration Destroyed, Kounter Mehzure, Precision Field, DJ 501 and Russell Rott. The EP also includes artwork by acclaimed conceptual artist, Soren Bendt. An official lyric video, created by video artist and musician Marcelo Nespoli, was released today on the band’s YouTube and Vimeo sites to promote the upcoming release. Lead singer Los Vincent had this to say about the track: “We have been working on Metal Machines for 5 years, and it has been a metaphorical thorn in our sides from the very beginning because each of us had different ideas for the direction the song should take. After years of hard work incorporating aspects of each member’s varied musical tastes, we feel it is one of our strongest tracks to date.” Drummer Jaye Leigh Vincent added, “Since our internal collaboration was so successful, we decided this would be a great track to open up to the music community and ask them to remix it. I am so impressed with each of their takes on the track.”

Torque Order has been writing and performing their brand of Industrial Rock since 2011. Originally the brainchild of Los Vincent, the addition of Josef Pfost on guitar and Jaye Leigh Vincent on drums helped to solidify the Torque Order sound: angst ridden vocals, heavy use of synthesizers, driving guitars and artillery like drums. It came together to form their debut release, Trust No One, in 2014. Their lyrics are rife with warnings for the people about how the world’s military, business and political regimes function. Politically neutral, their content is for all to hear, to promote positive change.

Factory Floor return in 2016 with 25 25, their second album for DFA and the follow up to their hugely acclaimed 2013 self-titled debut. With their music stripped to a mesmerising dance of percussion, fragmented voice and melody, 25 25 captures the next vital stage in the evolution of one of the UK's most restless and exploratory groups. Today the band share 'Dial Me In', the album's lead single that is available now on a limited 12".

Following the release of their debut album Factory Floor in 2013, the band - consisting of Nik Void and Gabriel Gurnsey - slimmed down to a duo. Having already boiled the scorched textures of their early singles down into their debut's hallucinatory club-not-club stomp, they both seized the opportunity to voyage further along the pathway, mixing the album with razor-sharp precision via David Wrench (FKA Twigs, Caribou).

Inspired by playing a growing number of late night club shows, the pair's music gradually evolved into the sound captured on their second album and in their current live incarnation: a stark, ultra-minimalist and eerily soulful dancefloor pulse, yet one that still bears Factory Floor's unmistakable hallmarks of hypnotic repetition and jagged, punkish intensity.

Speaking of 'Dial Me In', Void says: "Being openly progressive has always been the Factory Floor way, be it via improvisational live shows, early Blast First releases, DFA reworks, or open studio collaborations and residencies.

'Dial Me In' was the first track Gabe and I wrote together for this record. At this time we were both exploring new set ups - some unfamiliar gear like modular systems, as well as various machines combined with regular old stuff like my Roland sampler, live drums and effected live vocals. Our shows between 2014-2015 where steadily moving towards late night club stompers, and gradually our tools were becoming more and more mobile within two Peli cases wheeled across the continent. We were forever testing out changing sets from one place to the next. This single is all about transition, adjustment and transparency - something we needed to get out there so that dots can be joined and the next page can be turned ready for 25 25."

After the first lady of electro industrial has been hiding in the long grass for some time (or rather she has been pursuing her role as a member of thorofon), the numerous fans of geneviéve pasquier will be delighted to discover this little stocking filler: nine unreleased outtakes and alternative versions, and eight tracks from a 2011 live performance in vienna, both covering her entire creative period from the electro pop beginnings to the more experimental and headstrong material that made up the ant-zen albums 'soap bubble factory' and 'le cabaret moi' in 2006 and 2009.

Shifting between styles with ease, geneviéve pasquier presents a sound that is timeless, accessible and abrasive at the same time, with her extrovert vocal performance always taking the lead. the studio recordings really fathom the boundaries of the electro industrial gene pool, from the soundscapes of 'outback' or 'i am not yours' to the industrial grit of '8 p.m. daily news' or

'schizofren', from the sleaziness of 'douleur' to the minimal electro of 'recipe' and 'blitzkrieg baby' (complete with the unsettling sound of war), not even shying away from a booty-shaking, tongue-in-cheek remake of her cover version of 'warm leatherette'. geneviéve pasquier’s emotive, alluringly distanced croon takes center-stage on the live tracks, a manifesto of female fortitude, confident and unique.

More than a treat for the fanboys, 'live one' is a convincing and coherent compilation, drawing from the past and pointing towards the future (even though those categories are void in the geneviéve pasquier universe), and if there’s a 'live one' you may also hope for a number two.

In our lives we meet various people and we get to spend some quality time with a couple of them. depending on who we spend our time with and in what state of mind the time together is spent, we talk about friendship. and the more honest and unconditional this friendship is, the more it adds to the quality of our respective lives.

It's a rare thing when you meet someone and right from the first moment you know you add to each others lives. it only happens a few times - and maybe not even that often - but we have all been there and we all recognize those moments; as well as the people it concerns. and yes, those times bring back a warm and fuzzy feeling.

But then there are the many ways a friendship can end: a wrongfully interpreted word, a misunderstood thought, incompatible visions or simply because it started to cost more energy then it gave back. as incomprehensible a friendship can begin, it can also end.

Sadly there are also true and deep friendships that have never ended, even when said friend has left this dimension. the feeling that we're left with is just about the worst feeling ever...
With 'invocation' the [law-rah] collective and cinema perdu present a split album with personal views and interpretations of the emptiness that remains. finding closure in a process of grief. not the most happy of feelings, but it's a feeling we all recognize, an emotion we can all relate to and maybe the one thing we all have problems with giving it a place in our lives.

The process of composing, writing, producing and finishing 'invocation' has helped us seeing things in perspective again after loosing loved ones.
