THE INSPIRAL CARPETS – along with the Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays – made their name as part of the whole ‘Madchester’ scene, with a string of classic singles and a lucrative line in iconic T-shirts.

• Between 1989 and 1995, the band notched up 15 hits and four Top 20 albums. In 2003, they re-formed and have been playing live ever since. In 2011, they reunited with original singer Stephen Holt.

• In September, the band unveil their first new album of studio material for two decades, simply entitled INSPIRAL CARPETS. The album was recorded over the past year or so in Airtight Studios, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, south Manchester and has been mixed by Jim Spencer (The Charlatans, etc.).

• The album is fanfared by a brand new single, "Spitfire”, which is released at the end of August. The record also includes their previous Record Store Day single "You're So Good For Me”.

• Another of the LP’s highlights is the garage punk opus "Let You Down”, which boasts an amazing and unique cameo by special guest and legendary punk poet John Cooper Clarke!

Depeche Mode To Release Live Concert DVD Directed by Anton Corbijn

Depeche Mode Live In Berlin to be released by Columbia Records on November 17th

Depeche Mode have announced the global release of their CD/DVD Depeche Mode Live In Berlin for November 17th via Columbia Records. Directed by their longtime creative collaborator, Anton Corbijn, Depeche Mode Live in Berlin features two hours worth of never before released, live concert footage.

Depeche Mode Live in Berlin was filmed on location at the O2 World Berlin on November 25th and 27th, 2013 during the band’s extremely successful Delta Machine Tour which saw them play to over 2.4 million people in 32 countries. Depeche Mode was touring in support of their lauded 13th studio album, Delta Machine, which debuted at #1 in 12 countries worldwide in March 2013. The CD/DVD will include not only performances of tracks from Delta Machine but also some of their most memorable and biggest hits including “Personal Jesus” and “Policy of Truth”.

The deluxe version offers a total immersion, all access experience for fans. This will include the Live in Berlin DVD, the Live in Berlin full show audio across two CDs, as well as a second DVD, Alive in Berlin. Also directed by Corbijn, Alive in Berlin includes the full live show, inter-spliced with behind-the-scenes footage, multiple interviews with the band and their fans, and a 2-song acoustic session, which was filmed at Salon Bel Ami, the oldest existing brothel in Berlin.

The package also includes the band’s 2013 album Delta Machine 5.1 mix on Blu-Ray CD. All this comes specially packaged in a beautiful lift off box that includes 5 CD mini-jackets housing the aforementioned discs and a 16 page booklet.

“Alive in Berlin is a record of Depeche Mode visiting Berlin for two concerts and the impact it has on fans following the band. Berlin has a special place in the hearts of Depeche Mode. Likewise, Depeche Mode has a strong following in the German capital and the film tries to capture the highlights of these concerts as well as that special connection through interviews with fans and bands alike,” states director Anton Corbijn.

Soundtrack for Fatih Akin’s new film. VINYL including CD (with more tracks) release! “The Cut” is the third and last part of famous German director Fatih Akin’s triology “Liebe, Tod und Teufel” (Love, Death & Devil). The score for the film was produced by Alexander Hacke. The musician, producer and actor from Berlin became the guitarist of Einstürzende Neubauten at the age of 14 (and still is today). Since 1992 Hacke also composes film music, e.g. for Fatih Akins “Gegen die Wand” and countless other movies.
