Los Angeles, CA - After a long absence from the music scene, Missing Persons featuring original vocalist Dale Bozzio will return to the Southern California stage for two special concerts at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach on January 10 and at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano on January 19. Such memorable hits as “Words,” “Destination Unknown,” and “Walking In L.A.” made Missing Persons a household name in the ‘80s and a staple of early MTV thanks in part to the cutting edge fashion statements of Bozzio. With her unforgettable pink streaked hair, fishbowl bra and bubblewrap jacket, Bozzio would become an iconic figure of rock fashion, the original glam diva, inspiring the likes of Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Lady GaGa, and others! Her vocal style too became a unique signifier of the band’s music, and her voice remains as strong today as it was then!
These two exclusive performances are an exciting prelude to the release of the first studio album of new material to bear the Missing Persons name in over 25 years! The album, titled appropriately enough Missing In Action, was produced by Billy Sherwood and will be released on Cleopatra Records, March 4. Sherwood, whose recent work on the solo album of Star Trek actor William Shatner thrust Sherwood into the national spotlight, composed the album alongside Bozzio and brought a modern twist to the classic Missing Persons’s sound for what is sure to be one of the most talked about comeback records of the year. A record release party is planned and a nationwide tour will launch later in March!

Press release from Kinky Star:
Youth & Music centre Kinky Star exist on April 1, 17 years, this year was the 17th time we took part of the “Gentse Feesten”, we celebrated 13 years of the Kinky Star Radio Show, our 60th digital release on Kinky Star Records , our teen project “JonGeduld” started its 8th season in September , we launched new projects such as "K met de Kunst van Kinky " in which young street art artists do small exhibitions and don’t forget to mention the many concerts ( +2500 since 1997 ) of both young local and international bands, DJs every week who make Kinky Star the "CBGB's" or "Cavern Club" in Ghent. A lively concert club with an active 'music education' effect which is supported by a team of young volunteers and student interns of university-colleges. (social - cultural work , communication sciences , etc... )
From the start in 1997, Luc worked alongside many other "soulmates" voluntarily within the organization. From 2005, we worked with Flemish government project funds and created the music educational aspect of the project “JonGeduld”.
From 2011 to 2013 Kinky Star was even structural supported for 50,000 euros per year. Because of the removal of this support by Flemish minister of culture Schauvliege, we were forced to operate with fewer employees and volunteers to put on. The financial situation ensured that internal reforms were inevitable. Meanwhile, the organization has evolved into a youth and music centre with a strong volunteer structure and operations, and we are joined “Formaat” (the federation of youth centres in Flanders).
New Kinky Star adventures are coming, also for founder Luc Waegeman who leaves his current functions as programmer to the hands of volunteers (led by Pieter-Jan De Coen ) and a new general coordinator (to be determined) from 2014 on.
The restructuring in which Luc's resignation fits, gives more independence to the volunteers. This change is the right time for him to focus on his own musical projects (see links below) as well as other new professional challenges in the music business. He'll just continue the follow up of the label and be the "honorary chairman" of the organization.
In times that no one, apart from the well known organisators, took goth or EBM seriously. Luc made it possible that bands like Parade Ground, Stin Scatzor, Der Klinke, Empusae and lots of others could play a gig in Ghent. It was also Luc who belkieved (believes) in Dark Poem and gave them a chance on his label. So, eternal respect!
