Discover the ethereal sounds by Ascetic (for free)

25th of January 2013, 18:13

Golden Antenna Records are proud to announce the release of ASCETIC: - Self Initiation.

This is a brandnew band from Melbourne, Australia featuring Damian Coward of "Heirs" on drums.

Drawn from a collective obsession with fringe philosophy and post-new-age consciousness, Self Initiation evokes the moods & spaces of 4AD’s early roster (Swans, Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins), with a nod to contemporaries The Soft Moon, Factory Floor & Portishead’s ‘Third’.

Thick pulsing rhythms erupt into glorious, cascading conclusion; from narcissistic rants, to sickly crooned anthems; from the outer regions of reality to the depths of the subconscious, a white shadow emerging from the process: ASCETIC.

Speaking of download, you could download their record for free on Bandcamp! But it would be great if you could support our artists and us by donating a few Euro or Dollars or whatever.

Sony releases Resident Evil: Retribution

25th of January 2013, 18:06

In February Sony SPHE will release the fifth installment in the Resident Evil film series, based on the Capcom survival horror video game series Resident Evil, and the third to be written and directed by Anderson after the first film and the previous installment.

Retribution is a direct follow-on from the previous film Resident Evil: Afterlife, and focuses on Alice (Milla Jovovich) captured by the Umbrella Corporation, forcing her to make her escape from an underwater base in the Arctic Circle, used for testing the T-virus. The film has many returning actors and characters, along with new characters from the video game not featured in the previous films

Synopsis

Alice awakes at home with her daughter Becky and her husband. But soon she realizes that she is actually in an Umbrella Corporation's underground facility. Out of the blue, the computer security system shuts-down and Alice flees to the central control room of the facility. She meets Ada Wong, who works with Albert Wesker, and she learns that a five-man team has been sent by Wesker to rescue them. However, the Red Queen sends Jill Valentine and Rain to hunt them down.

Give me your hand and let me take you on a strange and wonderful journey into a dark and fascinating world. With „Monument“, their most opulent album production to date, Blutengel are popularizing Gothic lifestyle in an addictively catchy way. The Berlin-based charts storming band’s talent for transforming off-beat subjects and odes to non-conformism into haunting melodies is effectively complemented by a gigantic production and fresh, theatralic outbursts.

Chris Pohl and his band play out all facets of their one and a half decades spanning career, embarking on an aural journey that manages to keep the listener mesmerized with dark, minimalist club sounds, monumental dark Pop anthems and deep, emotional ballads. Welcome to the dark side… it had never been this irresistible before! And if you have tasted blood, come and dance with us!

“Monument” is also released as a deluxe 2CD version containing a bonus disc with 8 more all-new tracks and as a strictly limited fan box which contains the 2CD deluxe edition, an exclusive disc with moving piano versions of Blutengel classics and a more than 100 page exclusive photo book that celebrates the history of the band with a comprehensive discography and lots of exclusive photos of Chris Pohl. A real collector’s gem!
