Mesh and Covenant play impressive shows at Gothic Meets Classic Festival in Leipzig.
When Mesh and Covenant concluded their exceptional concerts with classical orchestra on Sunday, they were rewarded with standing ovations from the audience. Both bands amazed their audience in the sold-out, impressive Gewandhaus in Leipzig. The setlists included both newer and older songs, for example Mesh’s successful single “Only Better” and a fantastic version of “Taken For Granted”. Covenant surprised with classical versions of “Brave New World” and “Wasteland”. Both concerts were professionally recorded, and we are currently evaluating the possibility of a physical release in 2016.
Neen, schrik niet onze redacteuren hebben niet te diep in het glas gekeken, maar afgelopen zondag kon je in een uitverkochte Gewandhaus in Leipzig de klassieke uitvoering van nummers van Mesh en Covenant zien.
Het concert werd beëindigd met een staande ovatie. Van Mesh werden o.a. Only Better en Taken For Granted opgevoerd, terwijl men uit de Covenant-catalogus tracks als Brave New World en Wasteland uit de kast haalde. Men denkt na om de opnames binnenkort op CD aan te bieden. Zo lang dat Helmut Lotti maar op geen ideeën brengt!

32 years after its original release sees the first UK CD reissue of the debut album by new wave synthpop pioneers - Kissing The Pink. This special edition includes the 12 original album plus seven related bonus tracks all sourced from the original master tapes.
• Kissing The Pink released an indie single 'Don't Hide In The Shadows' in 1981 that brought them to the attention of Magnet Records. The label signed the band and went on to release three albums with the band spanning the 1983-86 period.
• The band's first album 'Naked' was released in February 1983 and provided the following 5 singles:
➢ Mr Blunt includes the album and 12" 'Mixed For Feet' versions. The latter was remixed by Pete Hammond.
➢ Watching Their Eyes includes the album and 12" club mix versions.
➢ Last Film includes the both the album and Hymn versions and the Extended 12" mix. This was the most successful single taken from the album and peaked at # 19 in March 1983.
➢ Love Lasts Forever includes the album and the 12" versions. The 12" mix was taken from the US and Australian edition timed at 06:15. Not previously available in the UK.
➢ Maybe This Day includes album version and also 'We Are Your Family - Special Club Version' taken from the 12" single. The b/side 'Middleton Row' is a bonus track. This was their first single to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
• The final track on the album is released in the UK for the first time. 'Big Man Restless - Club Mix' was originally released in the US, Germany and Italy.
• The album was produced by Colin Thurston, known for his work with David Bowie, The Human League, Duran Duran and The Only Ones amongst others.
• All the tracks have been sourced from the original production master tapes and the CD booklet features the original album front cover plus extensive sleeve notes with band members sharing their memories of the period and a UK discography.
• The band also released the albums; 'What Noise?' in 1984 and 'Certain Things Are Likely' in 1986 on Magnet Records using the shortened band name KTP. The band enjoyed success in Europe and in the US especially in the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. There was one final album 'Sugarland' in 1993.

Bij Cherry Red zit je steeds gebeiteld voor sublieme heruitgaven van vergeten meesterwerkjes. Kenners van het new wave genre zullen zeker opgetogen zijn om te weten dat het (op vinyl peperdure) debuutalbum van de synthpoppioniers Kissing The Pink 32 jaar na datum eindelijk op cd verkrijgbaar is. Bovendien vind je naast de 12 originele nummers, ook nog eens zeven onuitgebrachte songs terug.
Op de eerste lp Naked die in februari 1983 werd uitgebracht stonden maar liefst vijf singles waaronder de new wave klassiekers Last Film en Big Man Restless. De plaat werd geproduceerd door Colin Thurston die bekend was voor zijn werk met David Bowie, The Human League, Duran Duran en de punkgroep The Only Ones.

The Canadian label Visage Musique that is specialized in contemporary minimal music has just signed This electro duo from Montreal makes music that is based on the 80s and in which nothing is really forbidden.

It is an invitation, sent by misery, to dance to the beat of human hatred. In it we ask that you take us gently by the hand as we lead you on a journey, a journey that leads us from the blinding white heat of a midday Mediterranean shore, to the embattled boudoir of Ike and Tina Turner, from the clotted grey droll of Dr Harold Shipmans waiting room, to the final hours of the Third Reich in the Berlin bunker.
It is as much a catalogue of our obsessions as it is a sensual odyssey; sex, drugs, politics, death, the Northern Irish A-lister Sam Neil, it's all here, all that's left to do now is breathe it in.
Fat White Family release their new album. Songs For Our Mothers on their own Without Consent label on Friday 22nd January 2016.
Co -produced by Liam Trashmouth and the Fat White Family and recorded at the Trashmouth studios in New Malden and Marcata Studios (where both Swans and Titus Andonicus record) in New Paltz in upstate New York.
The album also features the Sean Lennon co-produced track, Satisfied.
Songs For Our Mothers follows the Fat White Family’s hugely acclaimed debut album Champagne Holocaust, released in 2013.
The band head out across Europe in November, before returning to the UK in December for some, as yet unannounced, headline shows.
Na hun bejubelde debuut Champagne Holocaust dat twee jaar geleden verscheen is Fat White Family er volgend jaar in januari terug met een splinternieuwe plaat: Songs For Our Mothers.
De release zal gepaard gaan met een uitgebreide toer, maar tot op heden is er nog geen Belgische datum vastgelegd.
Hun eerste plaat beschouwt de groep als een aanval, maar hun nieuweling is een uitnodiging om te dansen op de beat van de menselijke haat. Het wordt een reis die je meeneemt naar de geheimen van Ike en Tina Turner, maar ook naar de wachtkamer Dr. Harold Shipmans (je weet wel, Dr. Death), maar ook tijdens de laatste uren van het Derde Rijk in de Berlijnse bunker.
De nieuwe plaat werd gecoproduceerd door Liam Trashmouth en Fat White Family in de Trashmouth studio’s waar ook Swans en Titus Andonicus opnames deden.
The new names keep on coming at the various Belgian festivals. The organizers of Porta Nigra inform us that their tenth edition that takes place on 4th March (Rotterdam, De Baroeg ) and 5th March (Aarschot , JH De Klinker ) has three new names :
Zwarte Poezie (only Rotterdam) , the indus project Imminent by Olivier Moreau and the industrial duo Synapscape who have just released their new album Rhythm Age on Ant- Zen.
Earlier, Ordo Equilibrio Rosarius and Sophia were announced.
