The most popular compilation series of the Electro-/Gothic-scene enters the seventh round and its newest instalment is more versatile and comprehensive than ever.
"Awake The Machines Vol. 7" features more than 50 bands on 3 CDs, among them some of the biggest names in the scene, such as Blutengel, Combichrist, Suicide Commando, Hocico, Solitary Experiments, And One, The Birthday Massacre, Marsheaux, Ashbury Heights, Kirlian Camera, Die Form, Scream Silence and many more.
Add to that an impressive array of cult-acts, such as Seventh Harmonic, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Rummelsnuff, Sombre Printemps or Forgotten Sunrise and top newcomers like Formalin, Ostfront, Mina Harker, Lord Of The Lost, CHROM, Auto-Auto and Alpha Point.
The bandwidth of musical styles ranges from Electro, Industrial, Old School EBM, Neue Deutsche Härte, Synth Pop, Apocalyptic Folk, German Alternative and Dark Metal to Gothic Rock and many bands are featured with exclusive or unreleased tracks and remixes or with rare tracks.

Some months to come and one of our favourite synthpop/electroclash bands are back as Ladytron will release their forthcoming album 'Gravity The Seducer.' on Nettwerk Records September 12th in the UK and a day later in tUS.
In he meantime, Nettwerk revealed one of their newest songs "Ambulances" and the first thing we thought was : "Hey, that doesn't sound Ladytron at all!".

Swedish Diskodiktator (as The Diskodiktator Electric Orchestra & Friends) have completely covered S.P.O.C.K's classic 1993 album 'Five Year Mission'. The release can be found on Soundcloud.
"Raging and dancing", an anthology by Minimal Compact is now out on Cherry Red records.
Back in 1981 there was no such thing as world music, but Minimal Compact infused their music with the feel of their home country, even though they were based in Belgium and signed to Brussels Crammed Discs.
Raging and Dancing is the first career spanning Minimal Compact anthology.
Band-approved with liner notes that include an interview with founder member Samy Birnbach, it takes them from 1981 to 1987, when the band called it a day after issuing their meaning-laden overhaul of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song
Along the way, they worked with members of Wire, Tuxedomoon, John Fryer (producer of The Cocteau Twins and M/A/R/R/S). Their covers were designed by luminaries like Neville Brody and Eno/David Sylvian designer Russell Mills.
Minimal Compact were post-punk at its most exotic and danceable.
