Nice, 1976. Renée Le Roux staat aan het roer van één van de meest succesvolle casino's aan de Franse Rivièra, een familiebedrijf waar ook dochter Agnès aandelen in heeft. Agnès, net terug in Frankrijk na een mislukt huwelijk, zou haar aandelen het liefst verzilveren, maar Renée wil daar niets van weten. In de strijd tegen Fratoni, de malafide eigenaar van een concurrerend casino, en een aantal kritische aandeelhouders, heeft Renée haar dochter aan haar kant nodig. Maar dan wordt Agnès verliefd op de gehaaide Maurice Agnelet, Renées voormalige adviseur. Synopsis
