NEWS Blutengel in full return

Blutengel in full return

14th of January 2015, 17:36

Berlin-based Dark-Pop-legend Blutengel opens a impressive new chapter in an unparalleled success story: the new album "Omen" is a magnificent successor to the Top-5-charting "Monument."

Few groups can match Blutengel's prowess in expertly pulling the strings on an entire gamut of feelings, creating a gripping yet catchy monument for the dark side that resides deeply in each and everyone of us, while transitioning seamlessly into a dance floor compatible fireworks display of electronic beats. From the pompous orchestral intro that segues into the monumental hit single "Sing", via pumping Gothic-Electro-sounds (like in "The Siren" or the nostalgic "Asche zu Asche"), to the anthemic "Wir sind was wir sind" (which beds a dark prophecy into addictive sounds), Chris Pohl and Ulrike Goldmann display a greater versatility than ever, this time around. "Omen" generates an irresistible pull from a masterful combination of opposing forces, such as the eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell, erotism and emotion, or atmosphere and club-feeling.

The new album is sexy, sinister, opulent, fragile and full of floor-filling potential. "Omen" will hit shops as a regular album CD, a deluxe double disc version containing an exclusive second album of new songs and as a strictly limited fan box that contains the double CD, plus the exclusive acoustic disc „Dark & Pure Vol. 2“ (Blutengel-songs in "naked" versions accompanied by only a piano and an acoustic guitar), a deluxe A5 giant booklet with all lyrics and a lot of exclusive photos, plus 5 exclusive art prints of portrait paintings of Blutengel. The album will also hit download portals as a deluxe digital edition and as a special iTunes edition that will contain one more new song that is not available anywhere else. The word "Omen" is derived from Latin and means "premonition"... we have a solid premonition that Blutengel have created their best album to date.

NEWS KAMELOT Signs to Napalm Records!

KAMELOT Signs to Napalm Records!

14th of January 2015, 17:34

Symphonic Metal Masters KAMELOT entered the studio in mid 2014

to begin recording their follow-up to the highly acclaimed chart topping album Silverthorn. The new album will make KAMELOT history as it will be released worldwide ( excl. Asia ) on Napalm Records/Universal and Napalm Records/ADA-Warner as an exclusive licensing deal through the band's KAMELOT MUSIC LLC this April/May 2015. In support of this highly anticipated release, KAMELOT will hit the road starting in March for select UK shows, followed by a massive North America Tour this Spring, with special guests Dragonforce (UK). Select Summer Festivals will follow and the band returns to Europe in September/October for their biggest headliner tour to date.

“We are extremely excited about having a growing and hungry independent label like Napalm with the power of major distribution that we will get with Universal and ADA Warner.” states KAMELOT founder and guitarist Thomas Youngblood

Thomas Caser, Vice President of Napalm Records:

“Being a fan of the band since the band’s Epica release it has always been a dream for me to work with KAMELOT! Finally this dream has come true and we at Napalm Records are delighted and honoured to announce this signing. I foresee a bright future and we will spare no effort to bring the band to where they deserve to be – the top! Watch out for the band’s monumental new album this spring and witness KAMELOT & Napalm Records conquering the world in 2015!”

KAMELOT have held their own, very special position in the world of rock and heavy music: their elaborate melodic metal has always opened itself in a remarkably clever way to like-minded styles, integrating progressive elements as well as cross-references to doom/gothic metal and classical music, which have allowed their songs to define their own genre. Two of their most successful releases in particular, namely the albums Karma (2001) and The Black Halo (2005), are prime examples of KAMELOT’s multi-layered approach, intensity and outstanding musicality. Their last effort Silverthorn, saw the band raise this demanding standard even higher, because the album stands the test of time as a true masterpiece of grand gestures, gritty melodies and haunting atmospheres, showcasing KAMELOT at their finest.

Catch KAMELOT live on their upcoming live shows:

12.03.2015 IRL – Dublin / Button Factory

13.03.2015 UK – Pwllheli / HammerFest VII Festival

14.03.2015 UK – London / O2 Academy Islington

09.07.2015 CZ – Vizovice / Masters Of Rock Festival

NEWS New album by Spark!

New album by Spark!

14th of January 2015, 17:27

With albums such as “65 Ton Stål”, “Ett Lejon I Dig” and “Hela Din Värld” SPARK! has built a strong following in the electronic body music scene. But SPARK! has never followed the “scene standard” of EBM but instead built their own unique sound mixing catchy pop music into the old EBM formula. In 2013 the former lead singer Stefan Brorsson left the band due to personal reasons.

For many bands the story would have ended with such a thing. But not SPARK! Musicmeister Mattias Ziessow continued and instead of working with only one singer he has involved a whole scene. This of course gives us the amazing opportunity to receive an album with an enormous variation and different shapes. Every single tune on this new album is a story of its own, but always present is that trademark mix of old school EBM and pop music. Among the vocalists we find the singers of Spetsnaz, Patenbrigade: Wolff, Leather Strip, Dupont, Pouppée Fabrikk, NordarR, NZ, Blitzmaschine, Substaat, Xenturion Prime and Biomekkanik. A sort of ‘Who’s who’ of Scandinavian (& some German….) EBM supremacy that Indeed covers an entire SPEKTRUM of sound!!! SPARK! proves once again why they are a force to count on.

Gloomy riffs, catchy grooves and choruses that call to mind the flair of "The Walking Dead" - welcome to ZOMBIELAND! Megaherz is one of the finest examples of Neue Deutsche Harte, a genre of industrial metal, which takes elements of groove metal, techno and German rock. The band's 8th studio album, Zombieland, promises to be a to be a milestone in the band's history, and captivates with rich grooves, bombastic riffs and catchy choruses.

Megaherz is back - stronger than ever - and prove with Zombieland that they are still among the most exciting German rock bands in recent years.

NEWS Livalbum from Alison Moyet in stores now

Livalbum from Alison Moyet in stores now

14th of January 2015, 08:00

Reaching #5 in the UK album chart, Alison Moyet's recent album the minutes was hugely well received, being called "her best in decades" by Q, "amazing" by The Quietus and "a musical resurrection" by The Huffington Post. The accompanying tour was equally lauded, with The Times dubbing it "triumphant" and the Evening Standard stating, "she's never been better". The exuberant recordings contain a selection of material from the minutes, plus highlights from Alison's earlier solo and Yaz repertoires. Alison took the minutes tour through Europe, the USA and South Africa, selling over 55,000 tickets and it culminated with a rapturous show at London's Royal Albert Hall. Alison was joined on stage by MD John Garden (keys, guitars and programming) and Sean McGhee (backing vocals, synthesiser, guitar and programming).
"Having worked live for an age with a traditional band line-up, I decided to return to my recording roots and an electronic pallet. This rapprochement begins with my 2013 album the minutes, a body of work I wrote together with its producer Guy Sigsworth, resulting in a collection of material that is entirely pleasing for me to perform live. "As the catalyst for the minutes tour, it enabled me to revisit some of my earlier work, either in the context it was originally intended, or with a new ear. Instead, reworking organic songs into a programmed format rather than the other way around and sparing me the niggling suspicion that I was in danger of inhabiting my own tribute act - which is a relevant consideration when you have been singing some of the songs for 30 something years, and wish still to be engaged." - Alison Moyet
