THE KLINIK

The Klinik is an electronic industrial music band from Belgium, originally formed around 1984. Together with Front 242 and The Neon Judgement, The Klinik can be considered as one of the most influential groups from the Belgian electronic/industrial scene. 

The Klinik was conceived when Marc Verhaeghen joined forces with two other bands, "Absolute Body Control" (with Dirk Ivens and Eric van Wonterghem), and "The Maniacs" (Sandy Nys) to form one "super group" "Absolute Controlled Clinical Maniacs". This rather unwieldy name was soon dropped in favour of the shorter name "The Klinik". Nys soon left the band to form "Hybryds", followed in 1987 by van Wonterghem, leaving The Klinik as the "classic" duo of Dirk Ivens and Marc Verhaeghen.

Since 2003, The Klinik performs again, in a truly impressive way. 

Because of health problems, Marc Verhaegen is unable to join The Klinik live on stage these days. However, he still is a full member of the band and will be concentrating on creating new The Klinik music in his studio. Therefore The Klinik members since 2009 are Dirk Ivens (Voice/Lyrics), Marc Verhaegen (Studio Music) and Peter Mastbooms aka BORG (Live Sounds and Video Images)
