Unique double-bill clubshow with Font Line Assembly & Die Krupps! This Friday!
It rarely or almost never happens that two of these kind of legendary bands take on the same stage, the same night, for a full-fledged club show, but sometimes it does happen! Both bands are, separately, on an European tour, but this Friday, August 25th, the trails of both EBM and Electro-Industrial Cross-Over pioneers cross. This is not the least because of the stubborn lobby work of Antwerp organization BodyBeats Productions, who managed to convinced both bands to stop by in Belgium. For this special occasion, the slightly more central located and beautiful concert hall De Casino in St Niklaas was chosen.
Die Krupps (D) was founded in 1980 and is considered one of the pioneers of electronic and industrial music genre, inspiring bands like by Front 242, Nitzer Ebb and many others. With their first and very industrial sounding album ‘Stahlwerksinfonie’, the clubhit and cult single 'Wahre Arbeit, Wahrer Lohn' , the subsequent albums 'Full Kraft Voraus' and 'Enter The Arena', Die Krupps laid the foundation for what was later would become EBM or Electronic Body Music. In 2015, Die Krupps released their nineth studio album 'V - Metal Machine Music' and this year we can expect the release of 'V 1/2'!
Front Line Assembly is another highly influential Electro-Industrial pioneer band, but was founded in Canada by Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber after Leeb left Skinny Puppy. Influenced by early electronic and post-industrial acts such as Cabaret Voltaire, Portion Control, Test Department and Severed Heads, Front Line Assembly still managed to create its own sound adding more elements of EBM (Electronic Body Music).
Like Die Krupps, Front Line Assembly has never disappeared from (underground) music scene, still striking hard regularly with strong pounding albums and concerts!
Support is this evening will be Der Rest, a post-punk / avant-garde band from Germany.

Het gebeurd zelden of nooit dat twee van deze legendarische bands op dezelfde avond op zelfde podium aantreden voor een volwaardige clubshow maar soms zit het dus mee! Beide bands zijn, elk op zich, aan een Europese tournee bezig, maar op deze vrijdag 25 augustus kruisen dus de paden van deze EBM en Electro-Industriële Cross-Over pioniers. Dit hebben we niet in het minst te danken het hardnekkig lobby werk van de Antwerpse organisatie BodyBeats Productions die beide bands wist te overtuigen ook in België een stop in te lassen. Voor de locatie werd er deze maal gekozen voor de meer centraal gelegen en prachtige concertzaal De Casino te St-Niklaas.

Felix Flaucher, singer of the band 18 Summers, and formerly Silke Bischoff, passed away.
Felix Flaucher, singer of the band 18 Summers, and formerly Silke Bischoff, passed away after a long illness. The musician died in his house in Ludwigsburg (D) last night in the presence of his friends and family. This was posted early this morning on the bands official Facebook page by his musical colleague Frank Schwer.
"Felix died last night after a long illness. He was a special person and a unique musician. Thanks for the time together (...), a lot of strength to the family and the people who mourn for him. "
Felix Flaucher, de zanger van de band 18 Summers, en voorheen Silke Bischoff, is overleden ten gevolgde van een zware slepende ziekte. De muzikant is gisterenavond in zijn huis in Ludwigsburg (D) overleden in het bijzijn van zijn vrienden en familie. Dit melde zijn musicale collega Frank Schwer deze morgen via de officiële Facebook-pagina van de band.
“Felix is vannacht overleden na een lange ziekte. Hij was een speciaal persoon en een unieke muzikant. Bedankt voor de tijd samen (...), veel sterkte aan de familie en de mensen die om hem treuren ".
Swedish eccentric and artistic electro collective The Knife has recently updated their Facebook with a new avatar picture and uploaded also two short video teasers, which immediately raises our hope on a possible reunion.
In 2014, The Knife announced their last show after releasing their fourth album 'Shaking The Habitual' the year before (2013). Earlier, brother and sister Olof Dreijer and Karin Dreijer released their debut album 'The Knife' (2001), then successors 'Deep Cuts' (2003) and 'Silent Shout' (2006).
Updating their profile picture and sharing these two cryptic video teasers, after three years of silence on their Facebook, seem to indicate something is brewing.
The first clip shows a creepy close-up of a gummy cherry candy being cut into pieces by a rather large ‘knife’, while the second seems to suggest being a kind of intro for a cooking program, entitled 'Mother Of Knives Cooking Class'. Unfortunately, the music used for this video is not new material but taken from their last studio album 'Shaking The Habitual'.

Het Zweedse excentrieke en artistieke electro collectief The Knife heeft eerder deze week hun Facebook avatar aangepast en twee teaser korte video's teasers geüpload, wat bij ons meteen de hoop over een mogelijke een reünie doet rijzen.
In 2014, kondigde The Knife zelf hun 'laatste' show aan nadat het duo in 2013 hun vierde album 'Shaking The Habitual' uitgebracht. Eerder brachten broer en zus Olof Dreijer en Karin Dreijer hun debuut album ‘The Knife’ (2001), opvolgers ’Deep Cuts' (2003) en 'Silent Shout' (2006) uit.
Het updaten en delen van deze twee cryptische video-teasers, na drie jaar stilte op hun Facebook, lijkt er op te wijzen dat er voorbereidingen aan de gang zijn.
De eerste clip toont creepy close-up van een gummy kersensnoepje dat door een een vrij groot ‘mes’ in stukken gesneden wordt, terwijl de tweede een soort intro van een kookprogramma, getiteld 'Mother Of Knives Cooking Class' lijkt te suggereren. Helaas is er geen nieuw werk te horen maar een track uit hun laatste album 'Shaking The Habitual’.

Last week Sinead O'Connor posted a 12-minute Facebook video about how she struggles every day to stay alive. She declares she’s coming out publicly with her mental illness condition to support and encourage other people that are having to deal with the same situations. She wants to show them they are not alone.
"I make this video because I'm one of the millions of people suffering from a mental illness. Therefore, I make this video because we are so alone. You must take care of us. I do not want to die but every day is a fight."
In the video that the singer herself shared on Facebook, Sinead O'Connor tells us in detail how terrible she feels at this time. She also makes a desperate call for more understanding for people who suffer a mental illness. The singer is currently living in a motel in New Jersey (USA) while her family and children live in Ireland.

Ze verklaart dat ze met met haar geestelijke ziekteconditie naar buiten komt om andere mensen te ondersteunen en aan te moedigen die zichzelf in dezelfde situatie bevinden. Ze wil hen laten zien dat ze niet alleen zijn.
"Ik maak deze video omdat ik één van de miljoenen mensen die aan een psychische ziekte lijdt, daarom maak ik deze video, omdat we zo alleen zijn. Jullie moeten voor ons zorgen. Ik wil niet doodgaan, maar elke dag Is een gevecht. ""
In de video die de zanger persoonlijk op Facebook heeft gedeeld, vertelt Sinead O'Connor ons in detail hoe vreselijk ze zich op dit moment voelt. Ze doet een zeer emotionele en wanhopige oproep tot meer begrip voor mensen met een psychische aandoening. De zangeres woont momenteel in een motel in New Jersey (USA) terwijl haar familie en kinderen in Ierland wonen.
