And Also The Trees publish a new song and announce a tour

30th of January 2012, 23:02

Legends of romantic, lyrical new-wave since the early 80ies, the English band And Also The Trees have just published a new song and video on Youtube. It's called "Only" and features poetic lyrics and evocative music, pretty much in the style of their best previous works. The new CD, "Hunter not the Hunted", will be released on March 26th 2012 and a tour will follow. Six dates have already been announced in France, among which one concert in Lille on 16th April.

David Sylvian cancelled his European tour

30th of January 2012, 17:36

David Sylvian has sustained a lower back injury that is causing him significant pain and is affecting his mobility to such a degree that, at this time, he will be unable to perform. We are hoping that with medical care his condition will improve siginificantly,so that they will be able to reschedule the tour at a later date.

Personal message from David Sylvian:

This isn't a message I'd anticipated writing. Unless memory fails me, I've managed to get this far in life without having to pull out from touring commitments entirely. I've had messages from everyone involved in the tour, all very generous and forgiving, willing me onto better health, which in my book goes to show just what a wonderful team of people we had in place. Oddly no news from the tour manager Danny White. Whilst he's one of my favorite people to tour with he may now hold a permanent grudge. Too early to tell. My sincere apologies (and gratitude) to all who purchased tickets for the shows. It appears there were more of you out there than I'd anticipated. I'm undergoing tests and treatment and hope, all being well, to be able to announce a rescheduling of the tour within the coming months. If there's an upside to this situation it's that, with even more time to prepare, the tour will be all the stronger for it. I do hope to see you out there ASAP. Until then.. love and gratitude david

Other Voices Records are proud to present Tobias Bernstrup's new album 'Sing My Body Electric'

28th of January 2012, 21:49

Tobias Bernstrup who works both as a visual artist and musician has been active for more than a decade and positioned him self as one of the leading re-inventors of Italo Disco with his unique mix of Italo, New Wave and Gothic Noir. The new album contains 11 smashing tracks, and some exciting guest vocal appearances. Among these Videodrome featuring vocals by Pascal Languirand of the legendary Trans-X. Other guests vocalists are Paola, Saralunden and finally; the Jan Hammer-like ballad 'No Time To Die' where Bernstrup sings a duet with Miss Liz of 'Xeno & Oaklander'.

The album cover artwork is a painting by Tobias Bernstrup.

Albums by Rabia Sorda back available

27th of January 2012, 18:58

On both albums that he released with his solo project Rabia Sorda to date, Hocico-frontman Erk Aicrag impressed with an incredibly addictive, melodic and aggressive mix of Electroclash, Punk, New Wave and pure energy. “Métodos Del Caos” and “Noise Diary” juxtaposed the furious Mexican shouter’s unbridled emotional anger with catchy melodies, versatile song structures and an honest, organic sound.
Both of these deleted and sold-out gems are now being re-released as “The Art Of Killing Silence”, sporting remastered sound, an array of bonus tracks and b-sides plus an exclusive, new artwork, all at the price tag of a regular album. The perfect introduction to the wild, electronic world of Erk Aicrag and a must-own for fans of energized alternative sounds

LTM brings back the debutalbum by 23 Skidoo

27th of January 2012, 18:55

LTM is proud to announce a deluxe double vinyl reissue of Seven Songs, the seminal debut album by 23 Skidoo, originally released in February 1982.

Originally released on Fetish Records as a mini album, Seven Songs topped the indie charts and immediately established 23 Skidoo as a groundbreaking musical force on the post-punk landscape. “Intoxicating – one of the most exciting records I’ve heard since Unknown Pleasures” (Paul Morley, NME, 1982); “23 Skidoo conceived of funk as a sinister energy, and Seven Songs still sounds blood-curdlingly intense” (Simon Reynolds, Rip It Up & Start Again, 2005)

Digitally remastered, this deluxe 2x12” set contains an additional 35 minutes of material, including cult single The Gospel Comes To New Guinea/Last Words (issued on 12” in 1981) and their only radio session for John Peel, broadcast in September 1981 and featuring four exclusive tracks never recorded elsewhere.

Following the release of Seven Songs, Skidoo issued a series of hugely influential records fusing post-punk, dub, industrial, world and hip-hop styles, including the singles Tearing Up The Plans, Coup and Language, and albums such as The Culling Is Coming and Urban Gamelan. In 2000 the group returned with a self-titled album, 23 Skidoo, and 24 March 2012 will perform at Electrowerkz (London) at the launch event for Metal Dance, a compilation curated by deejay Trevor Jackson
