X Marks the Pedwalk burst onto electro-industrial scene in the beginning of the 1990s. XMTP’s debut full-length recording, 1991's Freaks immediately established the act as a major force in the newly emerging industrial dance genre.
Over the next few releases, the sound of XMTP evolved, slowly the harshness of earlier releases faded away and the act experimented with blending more mainstream techno elements, culminating in 1996's Meshwork, which was met with cries of approval throughout the hard electro scene. The release of the album Drawback saw a triumphant blend of influences and musical growth, with styling ranging from more mainstream electro to moody synthetic soundscapes.
Then, at the peak of the acts creative output, X Marks The Pedwalk went dormant. A decade later, the legend returned with Inner Zone Journey. Showing that the musical genius of XMTP mastermind Sevren Ni-Arb has not dulled over time, Inner Zone Journey proved to be just that, a progressive musi! cal document of self-exploration. The Sun, The Cold And My Underwater Fear is a compelling continuation of that voyage of self-discovery and this time XMTP takes us on a journey through what haunts us. From vocalist Estefania’s soft pleading on the opening “You Are Gone”, the trance-like “Fallen Angel” to the darker, more rhythmic “Tormented Skin” & “No!”, we find XMTP in top form.

There are few Electro-pioneers of the first wave that are still active and successful. Belgian artist Dirk Ivens is one of them, inspiring a lot of acts to follow in the past three decades – be it as part of Absolute Body Control, The Klinik or Sonar, or with his solo project DIVE. Therefore, an 8-CD box set containing the entire back catalogue of his one man project, from 1990 until now, is destined to stir up some waves. It contains all official releases, many of them deleted for a good number of years and therefore highly collectible (and pricey) rarities, bundled in a lavish box set in book form, hand-numbered and limited to 1000 copies, with a classy photo booklet that contains many previously unseen photos.
Next to all the classics, like the self-titled debut album, “Concrete Jungle”, “Snakedressed” and all EPs, among them the extremely rare “Images” and “Extended Play”, there are stylistically versatile collaborat! ions with Kirlian Camera, Jean-Luc de Meyer (Front 242), Controlled Bleeding and Diskonnekted, plus remixes from Combichrist, Numb, Die Krupps or Leætherstrip. Rounding off this massive package and making it all the more exclusive and indispensable is a bonus disc containing previously unreleased live material, cover versions and remixes. 148 tracks on 8 CDs – a legendary box set for a legend!

Combat Voice, the Belgian Cold EBM duo created in 2010 by Richard G. and Bernard F., have chosen Peek-a-boo to present their brand new song and video: "The Red Line". The song was played for the first time Live in Berlin on 14th April 2012 during the evening Common Roots Volume IV and will be on the band's next album, "Chaotic Universe", due to be released under the Italian label EK Product on January 18th, 2013. It will be their second album, following "The Last Flow", which was released in 2011.
The song starts with a great sample from Chaplin's The Great Dictator:
"Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men
Machine men with machine minds and machine hearts
You are not machines, you are not cattle
You are men!"
The song is a pure EBM song which is reminiscent or D.A.F. or Front 242, with a fast beat and very efficient synth programming. The clip was shot in an old, decaying industrial site. The lyrics deal with the boundaries not to be exceeded to let others in peace. The red line represents the virtual limit that should not be crossed.
The winners of the She Wants Revenge contest are Cécile Clément and Eliane Van Hoorick. They have both received a free ticket for the concert. A big thank you to all those who participated!
