Industrial Speedcore Band, SKAT INJECTOR Brings Anti-Human Propaganda To 'Bled Under A Burning Sky'

11th of December 2021, 17:18

Bled Under A Burning Sky is the new record from SKAT INJECTOR. Grindcore-inspired speedcore and a diatribe of anti-human propaganda because that's what we deserve for what we've become.

Willful ignorance, habitat loss, animal abuse, global ecocide, global warming, environmental pollution, overpopulation and many other attributes of a leeching narcissistic race which needs to live within its bounds.

UK Industrial Act THE ROYAL RITUAL Interprets Erik Satie With The Haunting, “Gnossienne No. 1.”

10th of December 2021, 17:18

UK Industrial act THE ROYAL RITUAL (David Lawrie) returns with a modern take on Erik Satie’s haunting solo piano composition, “Gnossienne No. 1.”

Officially forming the B-Side of “Empires”, this interpretation of Satie’s seminal work is in-keeping with the dissonance, space, and expressiveness of the A-Side.

The production was built around a live piano performance by Lawrie, showcasing his classical training.

About the decision to explore Satie:

“Erik Satie has been a staple in my pool of influences since I was a teenager. Whilst he was a paragon of parody and contrary, he was clearly a mad man. Even though much of his work was, indeed, nonsensical in its conception, there is such a strong sense of haunting loneliness – but also hope and irony – written through it, like a stick of Whitby Rock."

“I have always felt like I am on the fringes, looking in. As an Englishman in the USA, this sense of being “the outsider” was compounded further. My own feelings of affinity with artists like Satie has grown stronger over the years, and I wanted to see if I could inject some of my own expressiveness into the space between the notes"

About the video:

The accompanying video is simply a documentation of the live piano performance, as it was recorded late 2020, with no splices or editing.

Gothic Rock Act, pMAD Brings The Struggle Of Good Vs. Evil With 'Who Am I'

09th of December 2021, 17:18

Irish gothic rock act, pMAD has just unveiled their debut single and video, "Who Am I".

Taking the free time granted by the pandemic and a new approach to life, Paul Dillon aka pMad got his act together and finally made a full album. These tracks, with help from friends in Latvia, Germany, Ireland and Brazil are now fully mixed, mastered and ready for release on Zedakube Records.

The debut single ‘Who Am I’ is an emotional mix of pMad’s haunted, gloomy voice, choir and guest voices in addition to dramatic keys, neat bass lines, guitars all tied together with a pulsating drum groove.

‘Who Am I’ is an audio and visual emotional rollercoaster. Firstly, seeing the coroner examining a body, we are to decide if it is the perpetrator or the victim. The song is asking, "Am I the perpetrator? Am I the victim? Am I the survivor? Am I good or evil? Which one are you? Who Am I?"

pMad is a survivor using hope as the medicine while being amazed by the horror we can perpetrate on each other and our environment.

"Who Am I" appears on the forthcoming pMAD album due out in 2022. The single is available now via Bandcamp.

NEWS 42 Years Of 20 Jazz Funk Greats!

42 Years Of 20 Jazz Funk Greats!

09th of December 2021, 00:00

This December, 42 ago, Throbing Gristle released the album 20 Jazz Funk Greats. It was released in December 1979 by the band's own label Industrial Records. It is regarded as the band's best work, with music magazines naming it the best album of the 1970s, and the best industrial album of all time.

Actually it is the band's first real full studio album, as prior albums contained both live and studio recordings. The album was recorded on a 16-track tape recorder borrowed from Paul McCartney after Peter Christopherson had worked on some artwork for McCartney.

The album was produced meanly using effects units and instruments from Roland and Boss.

The album's cover photograph was taken at Beachy Head, a chalk headland on the South coast of England known as one of the world's most notorious suicide spots.

In a 2012 interview, Cosey explained the album cover and tongue-in-cheek title:

“We did the cover so it was a pastiche of something you would find in a Woolworth’s bargain bin. We took the photograph at the most famous suicide spot in England, called Beachy Head. So, the picture is not what it seems, it is not so nicey nicey at all, and neither is the music once you take it home and buy it. We had this idea in mind that someone quite innocently would come along to a record store and see [the record] and think they would be getting 20 really good jazz/funk greats, and then they would put it on at home and they would just get decimated.”

The 1981 issue of the album released on Fetish Records featured an alternate version of the cover art in which an apparently dead and naked male body is seen lying in front of the band. In 2013, Radiohead graphic designer Stanley Donwood selected the artwork as his favorite album cover.
