From 30th September in all theatres: THE WALK
Director:Robert Zemeckis
Stars:Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon
Twelve people have walked on the moon, but only one man - Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) - has ever, or will ever, walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Petit and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan. Robert Zemeckis, the director of such marvels as Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Back to the Future, Polar Express and Flight, again uses cutting edge technology in the service of an emotional, character-driven story. With innovative photorealistic techniques and IMAX 3D wizardry, The Walk is true big-screen cinema, a chance for moviegoers to viscerally experience the feeling of reaching the clouds. The film, a PG-rated, all-audience entertainment for moviegoers 8 to 80, unlike anything audiences have seen before, is a love letter to Paris and New York City in the 1970s
Vanaf 30 september in de bioscoop
Joseph Gordon-Levitt vertolkt in THE WALK de Franse koordloper Philippe Petit.
Regie: Robert Zemeckis
Met: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley en Charlotte Le Bon
Now out on DFW on DVD: The Missing
Stars:James Nesbitt, Frances O'Connor, Tchéky Kary
"The Missing" follows Tony, played by James Nesbitt, as a man devastated by the abduction of his young son, Oliver, during a family vacation in France. He becomes a man obsessed, unable to accept that his child may be dead and spends years searching for him. Tony's exhaustive search fractures his marriage to Emily, played by Frances O' Connor and threatens to destroy his life. Tcheky Karyo plays Julien, the French police detective who launched the initial search for the child. Even though he is retired in present day, he too cannot shake the small belief that the child may still be alive. Told using a fascinating narrative puzzle, "The Missing" explores the impact of a child's abduction, the emotional cost of obsession, hope and finding when to let go. This gripping thriller is told simultaneously over multiple time frames and set in France and London.

Automat is: Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten, Die Haut), Achim Färber (Project Pitchfork, Philipp Boa), Georg Zeitblom (Sovetskoe Foto). Finally the 2nd album is being unleashed… The analog mother of all minimalist pop species is Dub. Rhythm and sound are more important than melodies. And repetition reveals itself as a form of change—if only because the focus gravitates to the small yet important details. Under this premise, the Berlin-based trio Automat has now recorded an exceptional album. Of course, we are not dealing with classic dub reggae here. And the Detroit Techno is another story. The thunderous bass lines, delirious rhythms and hypnotic sounds make the notion of categories and genres seem superfluous. PLUSMINUS recalls the mysterious monolith in Stanley Kubrick's "2001": There's nothing here that one could hold onto, and yet so much of it that the listener is transported into a kind of trance.
Belgian Electro-legend Suicide Commando yet again raises the bar for quality hard electronic music with the new maxi-CD (limited to 999 hand-numbered copies) “The Pain That You Like.” The title song features legendary Front-242-singer Jean-Luc de Meyer on guest vocals! With thudding beats, searing synth licks and hard shouts Johan van Roy pushes the envelope on the harshness of his sounds, while at the same time managing to turn the inferno into a massive dance floor filler through a solid drive and masterfully planted catchy elements. But then the point of Suicide Commando has never been to produce feel-good music. This is pain! And yes, we like it! Front 242 singer Jean-Luc de Meyer graces the title track with an energetic vocal performance, turning “The Pain That You Like” into a summit meeting of the EBM-elite, of sorts.
On the b-side, the band pays homage to their early days with dark sounds, heavily processed vocals and a stomping mid tempo beat, all of which will put any fan in high hopes for the upcoming album release. The club inferno is topped off with versatile but always dance-floor-compatible remixes of both tracks from Suicide Commando, themselves (Pleasure & Pain Remix), as well as Pride & Fall, C-Lekktor, FragileChild, Pleasure & Pain and Decoded Feedback. Your disco will never be as beautifully sick, brutal and disturbed as when Suicide Commando are in the house.
Shunu Records are delighted to announce the signing of alt-rock foursome A World Of Silence to their repertoire of artists. AWOS will be releasing their debut album 'Still' through Shunu in October, and it promises to be a driving, progressive-tinged behemoth of a rock record.
The quartet, made up of Benedetta Capecchi on vocals, Matteo Benvenuti on guitars, Alessandro Sebastiani on bass and Daniele Cianferoni on drums, have been gathering awards back home in Florence, Italy since forming in 2011 with their outstanding song writing and committed performances, and last year won the right to perform at the prestigious “Pistoia Blues festival”, where they opened for Morcheeba on the main stage.
But that is only one of the many prizes they've gathered, other highlights include coming third in the "Summer Giovani Lucca" contest in 2011, winning long-established festival "Suoni Nella Notte" in 2013, and opening for Alteria in 2013 at the Borderline Club in Pisa, a show that was aired by RockTV, while the band have made it on to various 'hot lists' with their outstanding, polished sound.
Capecchi's extraordinary vocals are the enchanting yet powerful cherry on top of what are intricate, melodic weaves, with an occasional touch of menace, and expertly crafted by Benvenuti on guitar and Sebastiani and Cianferoni in a watertight rhythm section.
The band is now excited to release their debut full-length album, “Still” at the end of 2015 with Gothenburg based label Shunu Records.
Below is the video of the title track from that album, a rousing, rocking number which perfectly demonstrates the shade of bands like A Perfect Circle and Porcupine Tree that A World Of Silence so effortlessly evoke, and what is merely a hint of what they have in store for listeners later this year.
