Mastermind Jürgen Engler is a visionary who has had a lasting influence on the music landscape for decades. In the late 1970s, he was among the first German punk rockers with his band Male and took Campino (lead singer of German million sellers ‘Die Toten Hosen’) on tour with him before Die Toten Hosen were even founded. In the eighties, he formed DIE KRUPPS, who went on – together with his congenial partner Ralf Dörper [PROPAGANDA], who has also co-penned countless lyrics since "Wahre Arbeit Wahrer Lohn" – to be a driving force of the industrial and EBM movements. When this scene was taken over by the mainstream in the nineties, the group from Düsseldorf integrated tough thrash guitars into their sound and became, along with Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, the most important source of inspiration in the electro metal genre and also influenced numerous bands of the Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness). It is this successful phase (keywords: “Fatherland”, “To The Hilt”) which DIE KRUPPS bring back to life with their latest release “V – Metal Machine Music”, taking up where their “IV – Paradise Now” album (which was not numbered at the time of its release) had left off, following their fairly electro machine-heavy “The Machinists of Joy” recording which saw the light of day less than two years ago.
The title “Metal Machine Music” has appeared before in the DIE KRUPPS discography: once on their same-named maxi single with Accu§er and once on the 1981-1991 compilation, which featured the title’s German version. Jürgen Engler doesn’t mind. The title is so succinct that the new album just had to be called “Metal Machine Music”! The name stands for the ultimate symbiosis of electro and metal, the way I’ve always had it in mind. The artwork with its apocalyptic man-machine theme, reminiscent of “Mad Max”, is a perfect complement. No doubt about it – this albums sees DIE KRUPPS not only follow in the footsteps of their successful electro metal phase of the mid-nineties, it also sees them go even further in terms of sheer toughness! “V - Metal Machine Music” – the title says it all!

In a city park, Surly the Squirrel has finally gone too far with his latest caper leading to the animal community's winter food cache being destroyed. Meanwhile, the squirrels, the heroic Andie and the ditsy Grayson, are charged by Raccoon to find a new food source and Andie runs into Surly. With no other options, she arranges a deal to help in Surly's heist for the colony, even while Surly fully intends to betray it. However, there is more going on with the nut store being a front for bank robbers while Raccoon has his own agenda to ensure his own power. In the mayhem to come, Surly finds himself challenged in ways he never expected and discovering the real prize to treasure in this adventure.

Maar wanneer het duo ontdekt dat een bende boeven andere plannen heeft met de notenwinkel moeten ze de hulp van de dieren uit het park inroepen.
En dat zorgt voor vele spannende en grappige momenten in deze bioscoophit voor de hele familie!

This years editions comes with a special focus on audiovisual performances. 10 artists extendend their live-sets with high quality video material featuring sets by Holly Herndon - "the queen of tech-topia" (The Guardian), the master of disintegrated loops William Basinski, Istanbul's blissed-out space traveler and RBMA academy participant Ah! Kosmos, French producer Mondkopf and his doom laden electronic beats, Blanck Mass - the electronic solo project of Fuck Buttons’ Benjamin John Power, the British futuristic pioneers of dubstep and noise-based sound design Emptyset and Thomas Köner with his new multimedia performance "Expanding Illuminance" amongst others. Though mainly conceived as a label festival, we have invited further guest artsist like drone legend and Sunn O))) founder Stephen O'Malley, Austrians Elektro Guzzi with their instrument-based approach to cathartic club rhythms and Noveller - the solo electric guitar project of Brooklyn-based composer and filmmaker Sarah Lipstate, who supported St. Vincent on her 2014 tour.
Not limited to one musical genre, the Denovali Festival offers a diverse range of music styles from darker experimental sounds, ambient, drone, indie and electronica to darkjazz, jazz or piano and string driven modern compositions presenting artists from our roster with New York City's industrial noise composer Oneirogen, Hidden Orchestra with a special remix set, Brighton-based pianist/ violinist Poppy Ackroyd kown for her unconventional approach to neoclassical music, Munich's pianist and composer Carlos Cipa who's music is fraught with beauty, tension and emotional intensity, Greek electronic music composer Subheim or Orson Hentschel from Düsseldorf with a live-set that has been a blast with its powerful light show and live-drumming on this years label anniversary tour.
The festival again takes place on 4 days (October 1st until October 4th 2014) at the wonderful industrial venue WeststadtHalle. This year's edition will present 21 acts on the three regular days and a pre-event with 2 artists on Thursday October 1st. Their sets will as always be as long as a proper club concert (around an hour). The ticket preorder has already started and tickets are available for purchase at the festival page.

SYNOPSIS
In deze nieuwe dramaserie van regisseur Steven Soderbergh zoekt een briljante chirurg genaamd John Thackery (gespeeld door Oscar®-nominee Clive Owen) de grenzen op van de geneeskunde, van de moraal en van rassenverhoudingen in het jaar 1900. Een ziekenhuis in de binnenstad van New York genaamd The Knick (afkorting van The Knickerbocker Hospital) komt in de problemen door het vertrek van geldschieters, steeds meer arme patiënten en door financieel mismanagement.
Eén van de overgebleven helden in het ziekenhuis is Thackery, die zijn best doet om medische raadsels op te lossen terwijl hij een cocaïneverslaving ontwikkelt. Tegen zijn zin in moet hij gaan samenwerken met de jonge dokter Algernon Edwards (André Holland), die Thackery naar de kroon lijkt te gaan steken.
