On the eve of her first large-scale performance in years supporting Jesus and Mary Chain, solo-artist and ex-member of cult pop group Strawberry Switchblade, Rose McDowall and Night School Records are proud to announce an extensive archive project commencing in 2015. Spanning Rose’s 34 year career, the project will include reissues and unreleased recordings alongside unseen photographs and new sleeve notes.
Rose McDowall began her career in her hometown of Glasgow, operating within the nascent punk scene with her first group The Poems. After a meteoric rise to pop stardom with Strawberry Switchblade (along with friend Jill Bryson), McDowall submerged herself in the post-industrial landscape, recording with the likes of Coil, Boyd Rice and Current 93.
Shortly after, she began recording with her own group Sorrow, before disappearing into the underground, re-surfacing for occasional performances only.
At the personal invitation of the Jesus and Mary Chain, Rose McDowall will support the band at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on 21st and 23rd November.

Synopsis
Fokke Augustine, a forensic psychiatrist with a dysfunctional family, stands at a crossroads in his life. When he inherited the farm from his father, he moved with his wife and children to the Groningen countryside. There appears farming a front for a criminal organization and slowly Fokke has a career as a drug dealer.

Succesvolle start
Na de vele lovende kritieken trok de eerste aflevering in Nederland op 27 september 968.000 kijkers, wat een marktaandeel van 14,2% opleverde.
In de strijd om de Gouden Kalveren heeft HOLLANDS HOOP diezelfde avond bovendien de meeste nominaties voor televisiedrama in de wacht gesleept.
De spannende en zwart-komische Nederwiet-krimi werd genomineerd in alledrie de categorieën voor TV: Beste Serie, Beste Acteur (Marcel Hensema) en Beste Actrice (Kim van Kooten), en verzilverde tijdens de uitreiking z'n nominatie voor Beste Serie.
Synopsis
Fokke Augustinus, forensisch psychiater met een disfunctioneel gezin, staat op een kruispunt in zijn leven. Als hij het boerenbedrijf van zijn vader erft, verhuist hij met zijn vrouw en kinderen naar het Groningse platteland. Daar blijkt het boerenbedrijf een front voor een criminele organisatie en langzaam rolt Fokke in een carrière als drugshandelaar. Zijn kennis van het criminele brein gecombineerd met een afbrokkelend ethisch besef, brengt hem meer succes dan hij aankan.
