Anal Aura Gram” is a vinyl version of the long deleted CDR that came in limited quantities with the 2003 album “Aural Anagram”. Andrew offers a sort of audio high-colonic by flushing unwanted polyps with his unpredictable attacks and decays.
He has developed a compositional technique that makes individual sonic shifts as compelling as the music itself. The tones arise from submarine-crushing depths into the tails of comets, except when they are suddenly transported into the gut of a mountain. Or into the strangely populated belly of a whale. Harmonicas within crystals within faerie fyre?
Inside every out-worldly dream-drone is a debris field of small, lovingly constructed noise stabs which strike like matches or coil like cobras. Fizzling, sighing, groaning under-carriage sounds ping and rattle in and out like the quiet clamour of an old house, next to an old church, built on an ancient Indian burial brothel. It is like listening to a hologram of a black hole devouring radio signals. Finally, time to get Anal! Ltd x 300 copies on 180 gram blue vinyl and packaged in a custom made book bound sleeve. Also features a bonus 7" of remixes by Steven Severin (Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Glove).
The first new album in 9 years! Founded by Michael Popp (Deine Lakaien) and Sigrid Hausen (Qntal), Estampie from 1990 until 2004 released 8 albums that were all very successful both in the alternative/dark/wave- and the traditional, classical scene.
Their pieces narrate stories of trolls, kings, enchanted nightingales and dancing bears... This new opus is dedicated to Europe’s Northern territories and its sagas and fairytales.
As on their 8 previous albums, Estampie again use a lot of traditional, medieval- and ethnic musical instruments, without sounding ‘intellectual’ or ‘academic’.
Sought-after Vinyl-only release from the US-Label ‘Sonic Groove’. This exclusive vinyl includes 5 cuts of future EBM from the legendary band Pankow. Formed in Italy in 1979 Pankow released an impressive onslaught of stripped down hard pounding EBM industrial music.
Pankow has released on such seminal labels as Contempo, Wax Trax, Roir, Play it Again Sam, KK, Zoth Ommog and Minus Habens. Without question Pankow has influenced the sound and feel of EBM industrial music. With often humorous and political vocals meshed with hard drums and minimal yet funky synth production Pankow not only defined their own sound, but also over and over again redefined that sound. After a forced break in 1993 they returned to the scene with a fresh new sound.
Here Pankow has given 5 cuts of dark thought provoking songs that are deeply hypnotic and powerful with messages of life and situations we have all experienced. Warm textured rhythms over stark minimal melodies to express life a! lone in a barren world of stone and cold steel isolation.
The first Single from the new Album by ex-KRAFTWERK member KARL BARTOS! No other edifice in Europe symbolizes the rise and fall of atomic power quite as dramatically as the Atomium. This gigantic model of an iron crystal, erected for the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels, finds its musical voice on the first single lifted from the new Karl Bartos album “Off the Record”.
But what does iron crystal music sound like? Karl Bartos combines variable metrics and intelligent rhythmicity with calculated noise and the elegant weightlessness of his melodies – neoclassicism meets avant-garde electronica. To achieve this, he delves deep into his music archives.
Fans of the band have been clamoring for a new Porcupine Tree release. The wait ends this November with the release of Octane Twisted¸ a double disc live set recorded in Chicago during the tour that supported The Incident, the band's most recent album.
The Incident went top 30 in both the UK and USA, and the world tour climaxed with sold out shows in October last year at Royal Albert Hall in London and Radio City Music Hall in New York.
The album marked another step forward in the incredible journey of the band from a solo studio project created by Steven Wilson in the late eighties to a Grammy nominated act and one of the world s most revered live bands.
