Anathema has published a new song and gives it away for free here! It will be included on the forthcoming album "Weather Systems".
This album is the follow-up to 2010’s "We're Here Because We're Here". That album featured prominently in numerous end-of-year polls and the producer, Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), has described it as 'definitely among the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on.'
The bar for Weather Systems has been set pretty high then but, in an interview, Daniel Cavanagh, guitarist and singer, said: 'It feels like we are at a creative peak right now, and this album reflects that. Everything from the production to the writing to the performances are a step up from our last album.’
The album was recorded in Liverpool, North Wales and Oslo, each place significant to Anathema past, present and future. The record was produced and mastered by 5 times Norwegian Grammy nominated Christer-André Cederberg (Animal Alpha, In the Woods..., Drawn), who Daniel has described as ‘a revelation. His calmness and brilliance has helped to bring about the greatest inter-band chemistry that Anathema have experienced together in their career.’
Weather Systems will be available on Kscope from April 16th 2012. It is available to pre-order from the Kscope store.
After their massive album release "Harsh Generation" and last year’s EP "Chemicals & Circuitry", Netherlands based GRENDEL finally return with their all new studio album "Timewave Zero", another milestone in the electro scene showing that they are one of Europe’s finest! 9 all new (and a 2012 remake of the hit ‘Chemicals and Circuitry’) brutal tracks of uncompromisingly harsh EBM and electronics! Distorted vocals, acidic synth lines, pummeling bass-lines, and jagged melodies streamline the release to make it the most addictive Grendel assault to date. Get your adrenaline flowing!
As with the previous album ‘Harsh Generation’, also ‘Timewave Zero’ will be available in a strictly limited, special Digipak Double-CD edition.
The exclusive, full-length bonus-CD features additional 15 tracks: Massive remixes by Acts such as AESTHETIC PERFECTION, SIVA SIX, MANUFACTURA, MODULATE, SHIV-R, TERROLOKAUST and more.
Ronny Moorings and his partners decided to release this extremely beautiful, super-deluxe first VINYL BOX-SET in collaboration with Dark Side Records.
The heavy box not only features 3 classic CLAN OF XYMOX albums in HEAVY Vinyl (180 grams) and with full color outer- and inner-sleeves, but also an exclusive 4-tracks Bonus-EP and 2 A3- sized Posters.
Originally formed in Holland in 1983 as Xymox, Clan of Xymox became one of the pioneers of the dark and moody electronic music that later became known as darkwave. They released one mini-album, 'Subsequent Pleasures', as Xymox, then released two albums and a number of singles on 4AD as Clan of Xymox. They shortened their name to Xymox again in 1988 and signed to a subsidiary of Polygram. Their releases as Xymox were in a more synthpop/dance music vein. The Xymox era ended in 1997 when, in the midst of a revival in the gothic scene, Ronny Moorings made the decision to restart Clan of Xymox and return to his musical roots. Since then, the band has released a series of critically acclaimed albums.
