Founded in 1987 by Stephen Lawrie. The Telescopes have been mining a unique anti-myopian seam of highly influential experimental, drone, noise, dream & psych for over 20 years. Their first record was a split flex-disc with Loop on Cheree Records. After a further two critically acclaimed singles for the label, they moved to What Goes On Records, where they released another two EPs and their debut album "Taste". All of which found their way to the top of the UK independent charts, gathering single of the week / album of the month status in all of the British music papers of the time. Tours followed with Spacemen 3, Primal Scream and The Jesus and Mary Chain. And it wasnt long before The Telescopes were headliners themselves. Bark Psychosis, Whipping Boy, Slowdive, Bleach, The Cranes and Ride all played some of their earlier shows supporting them. In 1990 the group appeared at one of the UKs biggest festivals of the time, The Reading Festival. They were one of the few bands that werent bottled off the stage at the event. However, the increasing violent interactions with audiences at their shows saw the group step away from their noise origins and head towards a more introspective psychedelic sound. It was around this time that What Goes On folded and Alan McGee stepped in to release the group's material from the hands of official receivership.

8 years after the majestic album "Seraphim", Irfan’s Bulgarians are now back with an album which continues the beauty of the journey: 'The Eternal Return'. This new album was recorded with the original singer of the band Denitza Seraphimova. What a pleasure it is to listen to this divine voice again!The new masterpiece counts 10 titles; it travels from the Sahara desert, to the Siberian steppes via the Gardens of Jerusalem and even the mystical worlds of Hildegarde Von Bingen.

The flutes are hypnotic and the voices transcendental. Transcendence is all across the album, together with the theme of the eternal return, return to our original source, the Garden of Eden. The male/female duo unavoidably reminds us of Dead Can Dance ; Irfan adapts "Salamander" from the album "Toward the within". How can we best define this album? Overpowering ? Mystical ? Dreamlike ? Romantic ? Touched by divine grace ? All at once. The quintet gathers the Earth, the Sky, the fire and water in a kind of modern liturgy which honours the past, the Egyptian, the medieval and the Christian cultures. This journey, through numerous oriental instruments such as oud, santoor, psalterion, daf, bodhran, duduk, ney, kaval elevates us to the level of Life’s mystery. May Irfan’s music allow you to dream, dance, sing and see beyond the veil of illusions to taste the beauty of now / the present moment. Musical references of this album draw from Dead Can Dance, Azam Ali Niyaz, Hildegarde Von Bingen. Irfan will do a tour in 2015 to introduce their new album to the public.

For their fifth fully-animated feature-film collaboration, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures present The Secret Life of Pets, a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. 

Comedy superstars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart make their animated feature-film debuts in The Secret Life of Pets, which co-stars Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy produce the film directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2), co-directed by Yarrow Cheney and written by Brian Lynch and Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio.

After nearly 20 years of development, the bigscreen adaptation of New York Times bestseller “Meg” — about a giant, prehistoric shark — is swimming closer to the surface.

Sources tell Variety that Eli Roth is in talks to direct the Warner Bros. tentpole. Belle Avery will produce through her banner Atelles Entertainment, and Colin Wilson is producing the pic through Maedey Productions from a screenplay by Dean Georgaris based on the Steve Alten novel.

Gerald Molen and Randy Greenberg are exec producing. Gravity Pictures will co-finance the pic and distribute the film in China.

The book revolves around two men who band together to neutralize an ancient shark that’s threatening the California coast. The Megaladon, considered one of the largest and most powerful predators in history, can reach a maximum length of 60 feet.

This time around the shark will be terrorizing the coast of China rather than California — a change that helped in bringing on Gravity Pictures as a co-financier. Andrew Fischel and Cate Adams will oversee development for Warner Bros.

Originally set up at Disney in 1997, “Meg” fell into limbo after Disney was unable to get it into production before another shark pic, “Deep Blue Sea,” hit theaters unsuccessfully.

Even prior to “Jurassic World’s” recent dominance at the box office, Warner Bros. was high on Georgaris’ script, which they felt could be the basis for another prehistoric monster blockbuster.

In addition to “Green Inferno” bowing on Sept. 25, Roth is also about to host Discovery Channel’s “Shark After Dark” as well as “Shark Week,” beginning July 5, where he can be seen swimming with sharks.

He also has the Lionsgate thriller “Knock Knock” starring Keanu Reeves bowing later this year.
