Kat Connors is 17 years old when her seemingly perfect homemaker mother, Eve, disappears in 1988. But as time passes, Kat begins to come to grips with how deeply Eve's disappearance has affected her. Returning home on a break from college, she finds herself confronted with the truth about her mother's departure, and her own denial about the events surrounding it..

White Bird in a Blizzard is de nieuwe film van Gregg Araki. In dit drama verdwijnt Eve, de flamboyante moeder van de 17-jarige Kat Connors, op mysterieuze wijze. Door haar talrijke liefdesperikelen lijkt Kat zich echter niet al te veel zorgen te maken om de verdwijning van haar moeder. Geleidelijk aan trekt de mist uit haar liefdesleven weg waardoor de confrontatie met de werkelijkheid dan ook bijzonder onthutsend wordt. Een oplossing ligt niet meteen voor het rapen.

Hij slaat alle afspraken in de wind en beslist zijn zonen voortaan zelf op te voeden, in een commune, één met de natuur. Gedurende 11 jaar werden ze gezocht door hun moeder en de politie. Ze beleefden niet allee de angsten en gevaren van het vrije leven maar ook de de hechte vriendschappen en de geneugten ervan.

Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One, Guilt Machine) & Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering, Devin Townsend Project) are set to release the debut album The Diary from their new band The Gentle Storm on March 23, and following the release of the track ‘Endless Sea’, they are pleased to launch the video for the track ‘Heart of Amsterdam’
Anneke had this to say: “Heart Of Amsterdam is a tribute to the city of Amsterdam, the home town of the story’s leading character Susanne. Seventeenth-century Amsterdam was a centre of shipping, shipbuilding, and trade. Amsterdam flourished, and a wonderful city was the result. We shot the video in the centre of Amsterdam. It was freezing cold and I couldn’t move my fingers anymore during the last shots, but it was all worth it. I love how the video turned out!”
