Äkta människor (English title: Real Humans) is a 2012 Swedish science fiction/drama series set in an alternate version of modern-day Sweden where humanoid robot workers and servants are widespread. The series follows the resulting emotional effects on two families as well as the trials of a group of robots who have attained free will and want their freedom from human ownership.
The androids, known as hubots, are used as servants, workers, and company. While some people embrace this new technology, others are frightened by what can happen when humans are replaced as workers, company, parents, and even lovers.
In the meantime there’s almost no difference between humans and the androids. Mimi lives among the Engman-family: but is she now a human or a hubot? Lawyer Inger Engman is busy developing the law with the rights hubots have. In the meantime there is a dangerous virus around that makes hubots aggressive.

Er is enige tijd verstreken en hubots zijn intussen niet meer weg te denken uit de samenleving. Mimi is als een volwaardig lid van de familie Engman opgenomen, maar worstelt met haar identiteit: hoort ze bij de hubots of bij de mensen? Advocate Inger Engman raakt verwikkeld in hachelijke rechtszaken die hubotrechten onderzoeken, terwijl een groep vrijgevochten hubots uit is op totale emancipatie. Wanneer mensen bovendien beginnen met het vervaardigen van hun eigen kopieën, rijst de vraag wat het eigenlijk nog echt betekent ‘mens’ te zijn. Ondertussen verspreidt zich een agressief softwarevirus dat hubots onbeheersbaar en gewelddadig maakt…

On the 20th of June, art lovers and music freaks are welcome at the Backyard House (Montignystraat 38, 2018 Antwerp) for a Midsummer Video Clip Eventwhere lots of interesting things will happen such as the presentation of the new Dark Poem video clip, made by Alain Oosterlinck.
About the ‘Too Dark to See’ video clip:
'Too Dark to See' is one of the wonderful ballads written by Sophie Drakenvleugels. It’s on the first Dark Poem CD 'Tales from the Shades'. This song tells the story of a destructive love affair. It’s about the dark moment when you can’t think of any solution and you don’t know what to do, because you believe you still love each other but the blackness has become unbearable.
Last winter, the Dark Poem girls went to the woods with Alain Oosterlinck and a bunch of freaky friends who were willing to freeze their asses off. The result is an intense video full of demonic creatures.
On this Midsummer Video Clip Event Dark Poem will also give a small performance to celebrate the birth of their new video. As always their show will be accompanied by the atmospheric visuals made by Kolja Aertgeerts.
Kolja is an independent and self-taught artist who works with video, audio and drawing. He’s the creator of the Forest Nymphs video cliphttp://www.youtube.com/watch?
His work deserves some attention and can be looked at and bought at this event.

Comedian and actor Rik Mayall has died today at the age of 56.
Mayall is best known for his comedy partnership with Adrian Edmondson.
He has appeared in a number of sitcoms including The Young Ones, Blackadder, The New Statesman and Bottom.
