"Schaulust" is a German term for the often compulsive craving to watch something. The new single from legendary French Fetish-Art-Electro-project Die Form addresses the hidden voyeur in all of us, the little demon that is leering just below the surface to pop out and gloat over moments of great beauty or extreme horror. "Schaulust" is a fascinating dance floor-compatible sonic sculpture comprised of erotic coldness, hard rhythms, room-filling synthesizer soundscapes and impulsive analog sequencers, a seamless continuation of Die Form's great cult classics like "Bite Of God", which are still mandatory plays at any underground-disco. With a minimalist electronic approach and the mesmerizing interplay between mastermind Philippe Fichot's harsh vocals and the pure angelic voice of Éliane P., the French band creates a kind of hypnotic pull that is instantly captivating. The MCD is limited to 696 copies and contains the title track in a "Scopic Pulsion"-single-mix and a clubby Extended Remix, plus exclusive remixes of new songs "From Dreams To Machines" and "Zoanthropia." The new single from one of the most influential bands of the European electronic underground is a must-own for fans and an exquisite appetizer for the upcoming album "Rayon X", which will be released soon.
Track list:
01. SCHAULUST (Scopic Pulsion)
02. SCHAULUST Extended Remix
03. FROM DREAMS TO MACHINES Remix
04. ZOANTHROPIA Remix
Albumin is the band’s first album since 2010’s acclaimed Electric Tarot: Hello Paradise, and their first for Bella Union, initiating a new chapter in a story marked by triumph and disaster, struggle and redemption. Albumin is also Celebration’s finest record to date, the album the quintet has been leading up to. From the anthemic opener ‘Razor’s Edge’ to the pop levity of ‘Tomorrow’s Here Today’ and the shape-shifting centrepiece ‘I Got Sol’, these are their strongest melodies, most dynamic arrangements and singer Katrina Ford’s most impassioned incantations, drawing on years of studio know-how and emotional ballast.
“It’s been a long journey,” recalls Ford, who with multi-instrumentalist (and husband) Sean Antanaitis and drummer David Bergander, formed Celebration in 2004. “We’ve all experienced a lot of life, toured a whole lot, had our ups and downs, and the music reflects that. It goes deeper now.”
Clearly something in Baltimore’s water supply has a slowly seeping effect. Following the recent breakthrough by another local favourite, Future Islands, it’s now Celebration’s turn to carry the torch for bands that only improve with age. This is partly down to the permanent addition of former collaborators Tony Drummond (keyboards, percussion, backing vocals) and Walker Teret (bass, guitar), whose creative input has had a galvanising impact on Albumin’s sweltering grooves. It’s a record that revels in tradition, such as the Sixties girl-group swing of ‘Blood Is The Brine’ and the southern rock base of ‘I Got Sol’, while the album’s spread of fabulously funky-chunky organ is a hallmark of vintage psychedelia, but the music’s art-punk ambition makes Celebration a distinctly 21st century entity.
Albumin will be released 18th August on Bella Union.
Norway´s masters of blackened sonic evil, 1349, are finally back with a deadly vengeance. Four long years after the release of the masterpiece ”Demonoir”, the band will return with a new full-length album this fall. This album will be released on Indie Recordings throughout the world, except for North America, where Season of Mist will be handling the album. Get ready for an absolutely MASSIVE assault of aural hellfire!
To shorten the wait, the band has decided to bring a digital single, ”Slaves”, on the market, in addition to a special 7”, limited to 666 copies. The single will be available on digital services from the 4th of April, the same day as the US tour starts!
The band is touring the US together with Behemoth and Goatwhore in April and May, and a full European tour will follow later. 1349 look forward to give the crowd a taster from the new album on the soon-to-happen U.S. tour!
Comments the band: "We entered the studio with an idea of putting everything that1349 has ever been about into a cauldron, stir it well, and pour in some fresh ingredients - as well as some strange old ones - and come up with our most potent elixir ever. And we brought the spirit to match the ambitious attempt. Boil, boil, toil and trouble...Behold! We have made the most delightfully intoxicating and dangerous potion you can dream of. FEEL THE FIRE! And Hail Hell."
