Funny enough, Manual means both in Portuguese and English “working with your hands”. It is no coincidence that the Brazilian duo Boogarins chose this name as the title of their latest album.
From childhood on, Fernando "Dino" Almeida and Benke Ferraz.in Goiânia played psychedelic pop. The music was recorded in the garden of their parents and supplemented with traditional elements, but with a modern touch.
This new psychedelic trip is now available on CD via PIAS.

Maybe you've never heard of Tucker Zimmerman, but in 2006 journalists asked David Bowie to make a list of his favourite records. Most of them were well-known names such as The Velvet Underground, Robert Wyatt, The Last Poets, James Brown, The Incredible String Band, John Lee Hooker and Little Richard. But there was also a complete unknown between them: Tucker Zimmerman.
"I always found this album or stern, angry enthralling compositions." Bowie wrote about
this record from 1969 that had an incredible effect on him.
The production was made by Tony Visconti, who worked at that time with Marc Bolan. Visconti also plays on the album, just like Aynsley Dunbar, Rick Wakeman, Shawn Phillips, Ricky Fataar and Terry Cox.
Bowie’s The Jean Genie is inspired by the work of Tucker Zimmerman.

These days Artoffact Records releases many elusive gems on vinyl. This time they release Inhale, the album released in 2013 by the Greek duo Marsheaux.
With releases on labels such as Les Disques du Crepuscule, Out of Line, Artoffact Records, Anna Logue Records or Undo Records, the duo became increasingly popular. They did remixes for OMD, their music was used by The Human League and recently they were asked by VNV Nation to be their support act during their German tour.
The growing popularity ensured that Inhale is no longer available on vinyl. But now there is the re-release on Artoffact, that comes with the shape splatter and provides the necessary visual effects. The shape-splatter proved to be so expensive, that the company decided to stop the production. Inhale is the last album ever made with this visual effect. A real collector so to speak, available from February 2016.
Artoffact Records brengt tegenwoordig heel wat moeilijk vindbare pareltjes opnieuw op vinyl uit. Deze keer is het de beurt aan Inhale, het in 2013 uitgebrachte album van het Griekse duo Marsheaux.

De shape-splatter bleek uiteindelijk zo’n dure grap te zijn, dat het bedrijf besloot om de productie ervan te stoppen. Marsheaux is de laatste plaat die ooit met dit visueel effect werd gemaakt. Van een echte collector gesproken, verkrijgbaar vanaf februari 2016.
Peek-A-Boo's already has been for a while keen on the addictive synth pop of the Swedish trio Me The Tiger. From their stunning album Vitriolic a second single is taken.
As We Really Are is a track that can do well in the clubs, but nonetheless the text is about the rising number of young people who are mentally ill, and the alienation and frustration it causes. Maybe you forget the frustrations by dancing on this record.

Peek-A-Boo is al een tijdje gek van de verslavende synthpop van het Zweedse trio Me The Tiger. Uit hun schitterende album Vitriolic verschijnt nu een tweede single.
As We Really Are is wel een nummer dat het uitstekend in de clubs kan doen, maar desalniettemin gaat de tekst over het stijgend aantal jonge mensen die mentaal ziek zijn, en de vervreemding en frustraties die dat veroorzaakt. Misschien raak je de frustraties wel kwijt door eens lekker te dansen op deze plaat. De tracklist van de nieuwe single is:

It’s too bad that we live in times in where some names do not mean that much anymore. Who remembers Mark Perry? It does not ring a bell? However, Perry was one of the first punks who was in 1977 with his band Alternative TV at the helm of the punk movement, and also the editor of Sniffin 'Glue: the world's first fanzine!
Between 1977 and 1980 Perry made music with his band Alternative TV, as well as The Good Missionaries or solo on Deptford Fun City Records.
Viva La Rock'n'Roll is a beautiful CD box on Cherry Red including everything Perry released on the legendary label, such as the debut The Image Has Cracked which is now a classic, the successor Vibing Up The Senile Man, A- and B-sides from the singles, and the BBC sessions for John Peel who (how could it be otherwise) was a fan of the first hour.
